Delivery action words

Alternatives to “resolved” on your resume

Name the issue, your action and how completion was established.

Words to consider

Addressed can mean taking action without fully resolving a problem; choose carefully.

Vague wording

Resolved customer issues.

More specific wording

Corrected account setup errors and confirmed that affected users could complete the sign-in steps.

Illustrative example. Replace the details with your own work and verified outcomes.

Choose the meaning that fits

Fixed fits a concrete defect, corrected suits an error, and settled can describe an agreement or dispute brought to a close. Resolved should be supported by a clear completion signal. If the issue remained open, describe troubleshooting or escalation instead. Avoid implying that a temporary workaround removed the underlying cause.

Administration example

Settled a room-booking conflict by agreeing a revised schedule with the two teams.

The example shows the issue and the agreement that brought it to a close. This is an illustration, not a claim to copy into your own work history.

Use it in your own sentence

Start with the action you performed, add the project or process, then explain the purpose or result. Include a number only when you can verify it. Read the sentence aloud: a precise, ordinary word is usually stronger than inflated language.

Check three things before keeping the rewrite: could you explain the work in an interview, does the verb match your authority, and does the result belong to you or the wider team? Keep technical terms that accurately describe your experience. Changing a verb should make the sentence easier to understand without changing what happened. Use past tense for completed work and consistent tense for ongoing duties.
