Delivery action words
Alternatives to “established” on your resume
Explain the repeatable practice or structure you put in place.
Words to consider
- Introduced
- Created
- Implemented
- Set up
Established suggests the practice was operating, not merely proposed.
Vague wording
Established a process.
More specific wording
Set up a weekly intake review with a shared request list and agreed ownership fields.
Illustrative example. Replace the details with your own work and verified outcomes.
Choose the meaning that fits
Introduced fits bringing in an approach, implemented emphasizes putting it into use, and set up is a plain alternative for practical preparation. Name the structure and how people used it. If the practice was a pilot, identify that scope rather than implying adoption across the entire organization.
Customer support example
Implemented a pilot handover checklist for the evening support shift and gathered feedback from participants.
The pilot boundary keeps the claim proportionate to what was actually introduced. This is an illustration, not a claim to copy into your own work history.
Use it in your own sentence
Start with the action you performed, add the project or process, then explain the purpose or result. Include a number only when you can verify it. Read the sentence aloud: a precise, ordinary word is usually stronger than inflated language.
Check three things before keeping the rewrite: could you explain the work in an interview, does the verb match your authority, and does the result belong to you or the wider team? Keep technical terms that accurately describe your experience. Changing a verb should make the sentence easier to understand without changing what happened. Use past tense for completed work and consistent tense for ongoing duties.
