State the skill people practiced and the feedback you gave.
Words to consider
- Trained
- Guided
- Instructed
- Mentored
Training attendance alone does not prove a measurable improvement in performance.
Vague wording
Coached the team.
More specific wording
Guided support agents through practice calls and discussed how to explain account recovery steps.
Illustrative example. Replace the details with your own work and verified outcomes.
Choose the meaning that fits
Instructed fits explaining a defined procedure. Trained can describe a structured learning activity, while mentored usually implies broader development over time. Keep coached when repeated practice and feedback are central. Add the topic, audience and method before deciding whether a different verb improves the sentence.
Sales enablement example
Trained new representatives on the product demonstration flow using practice sessions and peer feedback.
This describes the learning process without claiming a sales increase that was not measured. This is an illustration, not a claim to copy into your own work history.
Use it in your own sentence
Start with the action you performed, add the project or process, then explain the purpose or result. Include a number only when you can verify it. Read the sentence aloud: a precise, ordinary word is usually stronger than inflated language.
Check three things before keeping the rewrite: could you explain the work in an interview, does the verb match your authority, and does the result belong to you or the wider team? Keep technical terms that accurately describe your experience. Changing a verb should make the sentence easier to understand without changing what happened. Use past tense for completed work and consistent tense for ongoing duties.
