Who this format suits
Software developers and engineers who want to connect technical skills to actual implementation work.
Make it yours

- Name the feature or system, your contribution and the relevant technology. Separate team scope from your own ownership.
- Delete unused sections and prompts. Check dates, spelling and page breaks.
- Export the file type requested by the employer.
Sections included
Summary · Technical Skills · Experience · Projects · Education
Make this layout work for you
Lead with a short technical summary and a selective skills list. In experience, explain what the system did and which part you built, tested or maintained. Use a project to add evidence that is missing from your employment history, such as an open-source contribution or a recent application. Keep links relevant and public; do not expose private code or customer details.
Engineering example
“Implemented input validation for an account setup flow and added regression tests for invalid requests.” This shows the contribution and validation work. Add a performance or reliability result only if you measured it. Avoid a long technology list without context.
Before you send your resume
- Check the content. Remove every bracketed prompt and unused section. Read names, dates, contact details and job titles separately from the rest of the text; familiar information can be easy to overlook when proofreading.
- Check the document. Open the exported file and look for headings left at the bottom of a page, clipped lines and unexpected spacing. Test your links and confirm that the text can be selected. Keep an editable copy for your next application.
- Check the application instructions. Use the file type and naming convention the employer requests. Review any fields filled from your uploaded resume before submitting; a readable template does not guarantee that every application system will interpret every field correctly.
