Customer Service Representative Resume Examples and Skills

Build a customer service resume around the questions you handled, the steps you took and the follow-up you completed. The sample below shows how to connect communication skills to specific work.

A complete Customer Service Representative resume example to adapt

Show the channels, types of issue and follow-up responsibilities you handled. Explain how you clarified a problem and what happened next. Do not invent satisfaction scores, ticket volumes or resolution rates.

A supported outcome without a percentage

Before: “Delivered excellent service.” After: “Resolved an order-address query by checking the dispatch status, explaining the available options and recording the customer’s choice.” Use this only for a task you completed; an escalation is not a resolution until confirmed.

Using service metrics

If you have a verified quality score or response-time measure, identify the period, sample and channel. Do not confuse personal results with the whole queue. Avoid including names, account numbers or extracts from customer conversations.

First customer service role

A shop, reception desk, volunteer event or student help desk can demonstrate listening and follow-up. Label the setting accurately and describe the question you handled rather than inventing formal support employment.
