Koniag Technology Solutions, inc a Koniag Government Services company, is seeking a Tester (QA Engineer) to support KTS and our government customer. The position is remote. This position requires the candidate to be able to obtain a Public Trust. This position will be part of a team supporting a Federal client with a business and IT modernization project. The Tester ensures that every sprint's deliverables meet USDA's strict quality, security, accessibility, and performance standards. This person uses both automated and manual testing approaches to validate the ERAS Platform before each release. Key Responsibilities: Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts for each sprint Verify minimum 90% automated test code coverage for all delivered code Conduct accessibility testing using tools such as Accessibility Insights and the DHS Trusted Tester process to meet WCAG 2.1 Level A and AA standards Perform static and dynamic security testing using tools such as Snyk, npm audit, and OWASP ZAP Validate API response times (CatEx triage under 1 second; page render under 1.25 seconds) Conduct performance and load testing to ensure 99.99% system availability during business hours Document and report all defects clearly, including false positives from security scans Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) at the six-month MVP milestone Validate Section 508 compliance and assist in preparing Accessibility Conformance Reports (ACRs) Ensure zero linting errors and zero warnings per MDN Web Developer Guides Maintain testing records and provide documentation to support USDA's Quality Assurance Surveillance Plan (QASP) Required Skills: Experience with automated and manual software testing in an agile environment Proficiency with accessibility testing tools (Accessibility Insights, DHS Trusted Tester process) Familiarity with security testing tools (OWASP ZAP, Snyk, or similar) Knowledge of WCAG 2.1, Section 508, and federal accessibility standards Experience with performance testing tools (Google Lighthouse or similar) Strong documentation and defect tracking skills Experience on federal IT projects preferred Security Requirement: Ability to obtain a Public Trust Education & Experience: Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field required. Equivalent work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. Experience: Minimum of 3 to 5 years of software quality assurance and testing experience, with at least 2 years supporting federal government IT projects Demonstrated experience developing and executing test plans, test cases, and test scripts in an agile sprint-based environment Hands-on experience with automated testing frameworks and achieving high levels of code test coverage Experience conducting accessibility testing against WCAG 2.1 Level A and AA standards using tools such as Accessibility Insights or equivalent Experience performing security testing using tools such as OWASP ZAP, Snyk, npm audit, or similar static and dynamic analysis tools Experience with performance and load testing tools such as Google Lighthouse, JMeter, or equivalent Familiarity with defect tracking and test management tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar Experience supporting or participating in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for federal systems is strongly preferred Knowledge of the USDA Quality Assurance Surveillance Plan (QASP) process or similar federal quality oversight frameworks is a plus Certifications: ISTQB Certified Tester Foundation Level (CTFL) or Advanced Level strongly preferred. DHS Trusted Tester Certification is highly preferred for accessibility testing responsibilities.
