Tasks
Analyze the existing Sonatype Nexus repository environment, including repositories, artifact formats, dependencies, and usage patterns.
Assess migration requirements and identify artifacts to be migrated, regenerated, or retired.
Define technical and security requirements for the future artifact repository solution.
Evaluate managed/SaaS repository solutions, conduct proof-of-concept assessments, and recommend a suitable target architecture.
Configure and implement the selected solution, including authentication, permissions, retention policies, and proxy/mirror functionality.
Execute artifact migration and validate data integrity, checksums, and artifact accessibility.
Reconfigure CI/CD pipelines and developer tooling, prepare technical documentation, and support the transition.
Decommission the legacy repository environment and related cloud infrastructure.
Requirements
Proven hands-on experience with artifact repository migrations, particularly Sonatype Nexus as the source system.
Strong experience with managed/SaaS artifact repository solutions such as JFrog Artifactory, Azure Artifacts, GitHub Packages, or AWS CodeArtifact.
Solid DevOps expertise and practical experience with CI/CD pipelines, particularly Jenkins and GitHub Actions.
Hands-on experience configuring Maven, npm, and related package management tools.
Strong AWS knowledge, including experience decommissioning AWS-hosted infrastructure.
Experience evaluating technical solutions, conducting PoCs, and providing vendor-neutral architecture recommendations.
Familiarity with enterprise authentication (Microsoft Entra ID / SSO), role-based access control, and artifact security/compliance controls is an advantage.
Fluent English communication skills and availability during Central European business hours; German is a plus.
