Veeva Systems is a mission-driven organization and pioneer in industry cloud, helping life sciences companies bring therapies to patients faster. As one of the fastest-growing SaaS companies in history, we surpassed $3B in revenue in our last fiscal year with extensive growth potential ahead. At the heart of Veeva are our values: Do the Right Thing, Customer Success, Employee Success, and Speed. We're not just any public company – we made history in 2021 by becoming a public benefit corporation (PBC), legally bound to balancing the interests of customers, employees, society, and investors. As a Work Anywhere company, we support your flexibility to work from home or in the office, so you can thrive in your ideal environment. Join us in transforming the life sciences industry, committed to making a positive impact on its customers, employees, and communities. The Role Nitro is an AI-native data platform that democratizes life sciences data for non-technical commercial teams, turning fragmented HCP/HCO, prescription, and industry data into decisions the field can act on. Our team is seeking an Associate DevOps Engineer to support our business consulting team’s AWS and Kubernetes analytics infrastructure as part of the broader NitroAI Team. You'll work alongside the team keeping this platform reliable and secure, with real ownership over the pieces you run day to day. This role needs solid technical fundamentals, but just as important is a customer-service mindset: you'll be supporting internal engineering teams directly, so how you communicate, troubleshoot with empathy, and show up when something's broken matters as much as the fix itself. What You'll Do Support day-to-day operation of the AWS and Kubernetes platform — monitoring reliability and performance, flagging issues before they become incidents for 50 person global consulting team Build & Maintain GitOps deployments: sync policies, deployment ordering, configuration management Support CI/CD pipelines: maintain GitLab pipelines and runners, help engineering teams troubleshoot failed builds and deployments Act as first responder on platform incidents: triage, escalate, and help document post-mortems Maintain platform observability: monitoring, alerting, and log visibility Migrate 50 person business consulting team onto a new AI native stack Support the building of our new AI native application NitroAI to learn Veeva methodology Requirements 1+ years hands-on experience with AWS and Kubernetes Working knowledge of GitLab CI/CD, including runner management and Bash scripting for deployment tasks Familiarity with GitOps practices (ArgoCD or similar) Exposure to Terraform or another infrastructure-as-code tool Strong communication skills and a customer-service mindset — you're supporting people, not just infrastructure Comfortable being accountable to other engineers who are blocked and waiting on you Nice to Have EKS/Kubernetes RBAC and IRSA experience Broader AWS fluency: Lambda, ALB, WAF, CloudFront, Secrets Manager, Route53, KMS, ECR Apache Airflow experience via MWAA Proficiency with Claude Code Exposure to compliance/security-baseline work Interviewing with Veeva We value your time and believe in a transparent hiring process. Here is the process you can expect. Follow the application process and submit your resume. Within 3 days, you will receive a link to a personality assessment administered by a third party. Once you complete the assessment, our team will review your full application package and follow up via email with our decision. If moving to the interview stage, the process is as follows: A conversation with the hiring manager A technical/coding skills exercise A final panel interview with team members and senior leaders Once all interviews are complete, the manager will be in touch with a final decision. Perks & Benefits Medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance Flexible PTO and company paid holidays Retirement programs 1% charitable giving program Compensation Base pay: $65,000 - $90,000 The salary range listed here has been provided to comply with local regulations and represents a potential base salary range for this role. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range above or below, depending on experience and location. We look at compensation for each individual and base our offer on your unique qualifications, experience, and expected contributions. This position may also be eligible for other types of compensation in addition to base salary, such as variable bonus and/or stock bonus.
