About The Role

We're looking for Masters and PhD-level researchers to work alongside leading AI labs — designing complex problems, stress-testing AI reasoning, and helping push the frontier of what AI can do.
This is a fully remote, flexible contract role built for researchers who want meaningful, intellectually stimulating work on their own schedule. Your academic expertise isn't just a credential here — it's the core of what you'll contribute.

What You'll Do
Design, solve, and review advanced, multi-disciplinary problems with real-world complexity and academic rigorApply your research expertise to construct problem statements that genuinely challenge and improve AI reasoning capabilitiesEvaluate AI outputs for depth, accuracy, and logical soundness across technical domainsCollaborate asynchronously with AI researchers and domain experts to improve model performanceEnsure every deliverable meets the highest standards of clarity, precision, and intellectual depth
Who You Are
Holds a Master's or PhD in a STEM or highly technical field from a top universityHas a strong track record in research, publications, or complex technical project workThinks rigorously — you approach problems with the same systematic depth you'd bring to a peer-reviewed paperCommunicates with exceptional clarity in both written and verbal formSelf-directed and reliable when working independently across asynchronous workflowsFluent in English and based in the U.S., Canada, U.K., Australia, or New Zealand
Nice to Have
Prior experience with data annotation, data quality assessment, or evaluation systemsProficiency in Python, R, or other research-oriented programming languagesFamiliarity with AI tools, language models, or machine learning workflowsExperience designing or grading rigorous academic assessments or problem sets
