About the Job As a Senior Software Engineer, help build and scale a category-defining healthcare data platform and you will have experience in Elixir and/or Python. You will play a critical role in designing, developing, and maintaining the systems that power our imaging data marketplace and enable healthcare innovation at scale. The ideal candidate is a hands-on builder who thrives in an early-stage environment, enjoys solving complex technical problems, and takes ownership of outcomes. What You’ll Do Software Development & Architecture Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable software applications using Elixir and Python. Build and support both early-stage and mature production systems that power Avandra's imaging data platform. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions. Participate in architecture discussions and contribute to long-term platform strategy. Technical Leadership & Ownership Take ownership of projects from concept through deployment and ongoing support. Lead technical initiatives with minimal supervision while driving high-quality outcomes. Mentor engineers and contribute to engineering best practices, code quality, and development standards. Help establish scalable processes and frameworks that support company growth. Continuous Improvement & Innovation Identify opportunities to improve system performance, reliability, and scalability. Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend improvements to the engineering stack. Contribute to a culture of experimentation, learning, and technical excellence. Support a startup mindset by flexing across functions and helping solve challenges wherever needed. What You’ll Need Required 5+ years of professional software engineering experience. Proven experience building and deploying production-grade applications using Elixir and/or Python. Strong understanding of software engineering principles, design patterns, and development best practices. Experience developing and maintaining scalable distributed systems. Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across teams. Demonstrated ability to independently drive projects and manage competing priorities. Passion for continuous learning and staying current with evolving technologies. Preferred Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud. Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes. Proficiency with PostgreSQL and/or NoSQL databases. Previous experience mentoring engineers or serving in a technical leadership capacity. Experience working within healthcare technology, health data, medical imaging, or regulated environments. Familiarity with data-intensive applications, APIs, and large-scale platform development.
