Mindpeak is a Hamburg-based AI company dedicated to democratizing cancer diagnostics. Our software supports pathologists in detecting cancer faster and more accurately by applying state-of-the-art deep learning to medical images. Our AI solution is the first to be implemented in clinical histopathology for primary diagnostics in the USA and is used in routine workflows around the world.
We tackle a central challenge in modern healthcare: a growing demand for medical image analysis with a static number of cancer experts. By providing powerful, robust tools for visual diagnosis, we help pathologists focus on what only humans can do best—while our technology takes care of the rest.
Role: Fullstack Developer (TypeScript/JavaScript, React, OpenLayers, Python, Django, Postgres)
Focus: Building modern web UIs for AI-assisted pathology workflows, including their backend. Managing and maintaining our huge annotation data platform.
Team: Close collaboration with product design, machine learning teams and annotators.
Build and optimize intuitive user interfaces for visualizing complex medical imaging data and AI-generated results, including millions of cell-level predictions.
Turn complex AI outputs into clear, actionable insights for pathologists and other medical experts.
Develop tools and lightweight interfaces that simplify data collection, annotation, and review workflows.
Design, build, and integrate backend APIs that connect AI models with our applications, ensuring performance, reliability, and scalability.
Shape and improve product features through close collaboration with pathologists, product teams, and designers, turning real-world feedback into practical solutions.
Ship high-quality features, from prototype to production.
Improve performance, accessibility, and reliability of complex visualizations.
Own parts of the annotation pipeline UI and help automate repetitive steps.
Manage priorities and deadlines in an agile environment.
Collaborate across teams to make scalable, user-centered product decisions.
Education: Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Experience: 3+ years of experience developing production-ready web applications with a proven track record of delivering impactful features.
Frontend: Strong proficiency in TypeScript/JavaScript; experience with React is a strong plus.
Backend: Solid experience with Python and Django.
Technical skills: Familiarity with Linux and Docker is an advantage.
Nice to have: Experience with OpenLayers, data-intensive user interfaces, Canvas, WebGL, D3.js, or frontend performance optimization.
Ways of working: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, a collaborative mindset, and the ability to take ownership and work independently.
Curiosity: Interest in medical technology and a willingness to learn about digital pathology and laboratory workflows.
Languages: Fluent English, both written and spoken.
The opportunity to bring cancer diagnostics to a whole new level and make a real impact on patient care.
An open, creative work environment with flat hierarchies and quick decision-making.
Close collaboration with a skilled, international team and experienced management.
Diverse, engaging projects that help you deepen both your technical and domain expertise.

Note: Direct applicants only. We do not work with recruiting agencies for this position.
Start with a role or skill you want to use in your next job. Use the location and role filters to narrow the results, then open a listing to review the description. A title alone rarely explains the level of responsibility, working arrangement, or experience a team needs. Compare those details before deciding which opportunities deserve a tailored application.
Employers use different titles for similar work. If an exact phrase produces no results, try a shorter title, a core skill, or an alternative name for the role. Remove one filter at a time to understand which requirement is narrowing your search. A broader search can reveal suitable work without asking you to change your actual qualifications.
For each promising listing, read the responsibilities and separate essential requirements from preferences. Note the location, schedule, employment type, and compensation when provided. Missing details are questions to confirm with the employer. A remote opening may still require a particular country, work authorization, or time-zone overlap, so check the full posting before treating it as a location-independent opportunity.
Choose a few examples that demonstrate the skills this employer names. Explain your contribution and its outcome, using accurate numbers where available. Put the most relevant experience first and keep your resume easy to scan. Avoid adding technologies, qualifications, or achievements simply because they appear in a description. Your application should make your existing strengths easier to understand.
Follow the employer’s instructions for resumes, cover letters, work samples, and screening questions. Review the exported file before submitting it: confirm that contact details are correct, text can be selected, and links reach the intended pages. A resume check can help you spot unclear writing before you apply. Its feedback is advisory and does not predict a hiring decision.
Listings are collected from external sources and may change after they appear here. The employer or recruiting destination controls whether applications are open. If an original link is unavailable, check the company’s careers page for the title or move to another opening. An employer website link is a place to check current vacancies, rather than confirmation that a particular job is still accepting applications.
Keep a simple record of the company, role, job reference, application date, and documents you sent. Record any follow-up instructions and the next action you plan to take. This makes it easier to prepare for interviews, compare opportunities, and avoid applying repeatedly to the same opening through different boards. Review your shortlist as employers update their listings and prioritize opportunities with clear requirements that match the work you want to do.
