About Pikl
Pikl is on a mission to enable the growth of digital marketplaces, starting with vacation rentals. We design and deliver insurance-enabled solutions that help platforms, property managers and owners unlock new revenue and deliver better customer experiences.
Launched in 2019, we began by protecting individual hosts and homeowners with specialist holiday-let cover. That experience now powers our insurance-enabled products, which increase participation, lift conversion and drive revenue across the marketplace value chain: platforms, homeowners and guests.
With offices in Norwich and London, and plans for international expansion, we work with some of the most recognised brands in travel as well as major insurance aggregators.
About the Role
This is a dual-remit role combining in-house legal counsel with company secretarial duties. You’ll build out Pikl’s legal function and capability as the business grows. You’ll be Pikl’s principal source of legal advice, with a strong focus on reviewing, drafting and negotiating commercial contracts across the business, and the custodian of good corporate governance, making sure the Board and its committees are well supported and Pikl meets its statutory and regulatory obligations. It’s a varied role for someone who enjoys moving between commercial legal work and the discipline of formal governance, and who the business and the Board both turn to as a trusted advisor.
What you’ll do
Contracts: review, draft and negotiate supplier, partnership and platform agreements, insurance-related contracts, NDAs and vendor terms. Oversee contract governance so agreements are properly authorised, recorded and reviewed in line with policy, and maintain the templates, playbooks and precedents that keep the business consistent.
Risk and advice: identify, flag and reduce legal and commercial risk within contracts, escalating material issues to senior stakeholders. Give day-to-day legal advice on commercial, regulatory, employment and general matters, act as the central point of contact for legal across the business, and instruct external law firms where specialist advice is needed.
Commercial support: support new product launches and partnerships with legal input on structuring and documentation.
Board and governance: prepare board packs, attend Board and committee meetings, produce accurate, legally sound minutes and maintain the governance calendar. Draft, circulate and maintain Board and shareholder resolutions, and advise the Board on governance frameworks, best practice and codes of conduct.
Company secretarial: oversee governance and statutory administration across group entities and subsidiaries, prepare and submit Companies House filings, keep statutory registers, company records and constitutional documents in safe custody with consistent version control, and administer the delegated authority framework.
Risk and Audit Committee: support risk management processes and provide secretarial support to the committee.
Compliance: lead the Compliance function, overseeing the development, implementation and monitoring of compliance frameworks, policies and controls so regulatory obligations are managed and reported, and foster a strong culture of compliance across the organisation.
Data protection: oversee data protection compliance, monitor adherence to privacy obligations, advise on data protection risks and act as the primary point of contact with supervisory authorities.
Horizon scanning: monitor the external legal, regulatory, governance and data protection landscape for emerging risks and changes, and brief the Board and executive leadership on potential impacts and required actions.
What you’ll bring
A legal or company secretarial qualification: qualified solicitor or lawyer and/or Chartered Company Secretary (CGI/ICSA)
A strong track record of reviewing, drafting and negotiating commercial contracts
Working knowledge of company law, statutory compliance and corporate governance
Sound commercial judgement, and the confidence to advise and challenge at Board level
Excellent drafting, minute-taking and attention to detail, with the organisation to run legal and governance workstreams side by side
Discretion with confidential and sensitive information
It helps if you have in-house experience, or have worked in a fast-growing, regulated or insurance and financial services business.

Start with a role or skill you want to use in your next job. Use the location and role filters to narrow the results, then open a listing to review the description. A title alone rarely explains the level of responsibility, working arrangement, or experience a team needs. Compare those details before deciding which opportunities deserve a tailored application.
Employers use different titles for similar work. If an exact phrase produces no results, try a shorter title, a core skill, or an alternative name for the role. Remove one filter at a time to understand which requirement is narrowing your search. A broader search can reveal suitable work without asking you to change your actual qualifications.
For each promising listing, read the responsibilities and separate essential requirements from preferences. Note the location, schedule, employment type, and compensation when provided. Missing details are questions to confirm with the employer. A remote opening may still require a particular country, work authorization, or time-zone overlap, so check the full posting before treating it as a location-independent opportunity.
Choose a few examples that demonstrate the skills this employer names. Explain your contribution and its outcome, using accurate numbers where available. Put the most relevant experience first and keep your resume easy to scan. Avoid adding technologies, qualifications, or achievements simply because they appear in a description. Your application should make your existing strengths easier to understand.
Follow the employer’s instructions for resumes, cover letters, work samples, and screening questions. Review the exported file before submitting it: confirm that contact details are correct, text can be selected, and links reach the intended pages. A resume check can help you spot unclear writing before you apply. Its feedback is advisory and does not predict a hiring decision.
Listings are collected from external sources and may change after they appear here. The employer or recruiting destination controls whether applications are open. If an original link is unavailable, check the company’s careers page for the title or move to another opening. An employer website link is a place to check current vacancies, rather than confirmation that a particular job is still accepting applications.
Keep a simple record of the company, role, job reference, application date, and documents you sent. Record any follow-up instructions and the next action you plan to take. This makes it easier to prepare for interviews, compare opportunities, and avoid applying repeatedly to the same opening through different boards. Review your shortlist as employers update their listings and prioritize opportunities with clear requirements that match the work you want to do.
