Localize is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to join our growing product engineering team. As Localize expands, the scalability, reliability, and performance of our infrastructure and applications have become paramount. As a critical member of our product engineering team, you will own and improve Localize’s technical infrastructure, databases, and platform tooling, including monitoring, alerting, and maintenance. Your scope extends beyond delivering product tickets: you will strengthen the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and be responsible for the scalability, stability, reliability, performance, and security of the Localize platform.
You will partner closely with leadership and fellow product engineers to translate business priorities and customer needs into execution, remove obstacles, and make thoughtful tradeoffs that keep the team moving forward. Like every product engineer at Localize, you are expected to be customer-obsessed and business-aligned: connect technical decisions to customer trust, product quality, and business outcomes. This role reports directly to the Engineering Manager.
This is a hands-on software engineering role as well as an infrastructure ownership role. You will be expected to operate at a senior backend engineering level, contributing production application code and owning complex changes from design through rollout and ongoing operation. You will also contribute across the stack when needed to deliver complete customer-facing solutions, balancing product development with infrastructure, security, and developer experience priorities.
Experience with the specific technologies below is a plus unless listed under Must-Have Skills. Security and compliance, including support for SOC 2 Type II, are core responsibilities of this role—not optional areas of involvement.
You’ll be joining a close knit and talented team, with plenty of opportunity for professional growth. We offer compensation + benefits that are on par with large companies, while also placing a high value on maintaining a healthy work-life balance.
The Localize platform is used by 700+ companies to automate the translation of their web and mobile applications and bring their products & services to new markets at record speed. We support organizations like The Bay Area Toll Authority in translating their payments website, Baptist Health in making their healthcare site multilingual, and the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education in offering their content in several languages. To see our product in action, click any of those links and use the website's language switcher to switch from English to another language.
Localize works by providing a code snippet (similar to the Google Analytics JavaScript snippet) that our customers add to their website/web app. The Localize snippet pulls in content from the page into the Localize dashboard where our customers log in to add translations and manage their content. Localize automatically deploys those translations to the customer's production site, reducing development costs and accelerating time to market.
We are a team of ~30 people working fully remote. We offer competitive pay, a full benefits package, and a culture with an emphasis on work + life balance.
Along with your resume, send us a cover letter that showcases your personality and tells us why we should hire you. Previous experience working in a remote position is a must.

Start with a role or skill you want to use in your next job. Use the location and role filters to narrow the results, then open a listing to review the description. A title alone rarely explains the level of responsibility, working arrangement, or experience a team needs. Compare those details before deciding which opportunities deserve a tailored application.
Employers use different titles for similar work. If an exact phrase produces no results, try a shorter title, a core skill, or an alternative name for the role. Remove one filter at a time to understand which requirement is narrowing your search. A broader search can reveal suitable work without asking you to change your actual qualifications.
For each promising listing, read the responsibilities and separate essential requirements from preferences. Note the location, schedule, employment type, and compensation when provided. Missing details are questions to confirm with the employer. A remote opening may still require a particular country, work authorization, or time-zone overlap, so check the full posting before treating it as a location-independent opportunity.
Choose a few examples that demonstrate the skills this employer names. Explain your contribution and its outcome, using accurate numbers where available. Put the most relevant experience first and keep your resume easy to scan. Avoid adding technologies, qualifications, or achievements simply because they appear in a description. Your application should make your existing strengths easier to understand.
Follow the employer’s instructions for resumes, cover letters, work samples, and screening questions. Review the exported file before submitting it: confirm that contact details are correct, text can be selected, and links reach the intended pages. A resume check can help you spot unclear writing before you apply. Its feedback is advisory and does not predict a hiring decision.
Listings are collected from external sources and may change after they appear here. The employer or recruiting destination controls whether applications are open. If an original link is unavailable, check the company’s careers page for the title or move to another opening. An employer website link is a place to check current vacancies, rather than confirmation that a particular job is still accepting applications.
Keep a simple record of the company, role, job reference, application date, and documents you sent. Record any follow-up instructions and the next action you plan to take. This makes it easier to prepare for interviews, compare opportunities, and avoid applying repeatedly to the same opening through different boards. Review your shortlist as employers update their listings and prioritize opportunities with clear requirements that match the work you want to do.
