Keet is a fully peer-to-peer messaging and video calling app built on Holepunch's P2P stack. There are no servers, no middlemen, and no data harvesting. People talk directly to each other, with end-to-end encryption by design.
We're taking Keet to a billion users, competing head-on with WhatsApp and Telegram. Product sets the direction. We're looking for a Product Engineering Lead to turn that direction into features people love, built to a standard that holds up at global scale.
You lead the teams that build Keet's features: the API team, which adds feature-focused APIs to Keet's core, and the frontend team, which builds the React app on top, each with its own lead. You report directly to the CTO and take direction from product. Product owns the what and the why. You own the how and the engineering bar. The split is roughly 70% engineering leadership and 30% product.
You're a combination of three things. You're an engineering leader who has helped teams ship consumer products at speed. You have real product sense and can partner with PMs as an equal, shaping what gets built, not just executing it. And you have an intuition for distributed, local-first systems, so you can work fluently on top of a P2P engine without needing to build it yourself.
Run the API and frontend teams day to day: unblocking, reviewing, and keeping them shipping.
Set and hold a high engineering bar for performance, reliability, and clean APIs.
Own the technical design of features and the API surface between Keet's core and the app.
Make sure the API team works closely with our deep tech teams on code reviews, design, and anything that touches the engine.
Work alongside Keet's product managers to turn vision and roadmap into scoped, buildable work.
Push back when scope and reality don't match, and propose better paths when they exist.
Bring an engineering perspective to product decisions, especially where P2P opens doors that centralized apps can't.
Help the team move fast, using AI tools and quick prototypes to validate ideas before committing to them.
Create clarity around team goals and make sure everyone knows what success looks like.
Mentor team leads to build strong team operating systems, improve how their teams work with others, and grow as leaders.
Lead by example: roll up your sleeves when the team needs it, and step back when they're ready to own it.
Experience managing engineers or engineering leads who ship consumer product, ideally in chat, calling, or social apps.
Strong product sense: you can tell a good feature from a busy one.
Intuition for distributed and local-first systems. Offline-first and eventual consistency should feel natural. You don't need P2P protocol expertise, because our core abstracts it away.
Initiative, curiosity, resilience, and the ability to give and receive direct critique.
Bonus: experience with local-first apps, CRDTs or sync engines, offline-capable mobile or desktop apps, or open source.

Start with a role or skill you want to use in your next job. Use the location and role filters to narrow the results, then open a listing to review the description. A title alone rarely explains the level of responsibility, working arrangement, or experience a team needs. Compare those details before deciding which opportunities deserve a tailored application.
Employers use different titles for similar work. If an exact phrase produces no results, try a shorter title, a core skill, or an alternative name for the role. Remove one filter at a time to understand which requirement is narrowing your search. A broader search can reveal suitable work without asking you to change your actual qualifications.
For each promising listing, read the responsibilities and separate essential requirements from preferences. Note the location, schedule, employment type, and compensation when provided. Missing details are questions to confirm with the employer. A remote opening may still require a particular country, work authorization, or time-zone overlap, so check the full posting before treating it as a location-independent opportunity.
Choose a few examples that demonstrate the skills this employer names. Explain your contribution and its outcome, using accurate numbers where available. Put the most relevant experience first and keep your resume easy to scan. Avoid adding technologies, qualifications, or achievements simply because they appear in a description. Your application should make your existing strengths easier to understand.
Follow the employer’s instructions for resumes, cover letters, work samples, and screening questions. Review the exported file before submitting it: confirm that contact details are correct, text can be selected, and links reach the intended pages. A resume check can help you spot unclear writing before you apply. Its feedback is advisory and does not predict a hiring decision.
Listings are collected from external sources and may change after they appear here. The employer or recruiting destination controls whether applications are open. If an original link is unavailable, check the company’s careers page for the title or move to another opening. An employer website link is a place to check current vacancies, rather than confirmation that a particular job is still accepting applications.
Keep a simple record of the company, role, job reference, application date, and documents you sent. Record any follow-up instructions and the next action you plan to take. This makes it easier to prepare for interviews, compare opportunities, and avoid applying repeatedly to the same opening through different boards. Review your shortlist as employers update their listings and prioritize opportunities with clear requirements that match the work you want to do.
