At gaiia, we're building the leading platform for Communications Service Providers (CSPs) that truly care about their customers. Our core product is an operating system (OS) for telcos that manages billing, operations, automation and everything in between.
We're passionate about taking care of our people, and it's not just lip service. We want you to focus on your job while we care for everything else. We offer competitive pay and benefits, attractive stock options, unparalleled transparency, and a 100% remote environment. We're excited to have you join us for your next career adventure!
We're looking to hire an IT Operations Engineer with a builder's mindset, profound curiosity and legendary communication abilities to own internal IT at gaiia. This is a true one-person IT army role: you'll build and run the function end to end, creating the systems and processes that keep our team productive, secure, and supported. As the first hire in this role, you’ll report directly to the CTO and have the opportunity to shape the IT function while growing your career as gaiia scales.
You will be the go-to person for: access and permissions, device management, internal support, and the automations that make all of it run smoothly. You will also work closely with Engineering Leadership and the Platform squad on security and compliance topics, including our SOC 2 program.
In short: you’ll handle internal support requests while also building systems and automations that reduce recurring issues and make you and the team more productive.
Our internal IT stack includes Rippling (HRIS & MDM), Apple Business Management, CrowdStrike, Google Workspace, Slack, Notion, and gaiia’s Workflow Builder.
Here are some actual projects you would have worked on recently:
MDM pipeline overhaul: You'd have diagnosed why newly purchased laptops were shipping without their security software, traced it to broken packages and an overly narrow assignment rule, and rebuilt the deployment so every device is protected from first boot. You'd then have documented the whole purchase-to-managed-device pipeline as a reference anyone can use to debug and audit our fleet.
Self-serve access requests: You'd have replaced ad-hoc DMs with a Slack workflow, so every access request is captured, routed and traceable, making both day-to-day support and SOC 2 audits much easier.
Employee offboarding flow: You'd have turned offboarding into a repeatable checklist driven by our vendor inventory, so every access is revoked quickly, shared credentials are rotated, devices are recovered or wiped, and audit evidence is generated along the way.
At gaiia, we have a transparent salary philosophy and a robust evaluation and compensation framework. It translates to a fair and impartial model where salaries are published internally, healthy discussions about compensation and performance can exist, and taboos are removed.
The salary range for this role is $85,000-$115,000.
We are an equal-opportunity employer committed to inclusivity and diversity. Our workplace is fully remote and boasts accessible technologies, ensuring all team members can thrive. Should you require accommodations due to a disability during the application process, please contact us at 581-996-9639 or as per the Accessible Canada Act and human rights legislation. We're here to support you every step of the way.

Start with a role or skill you want to use in your next job. Use the location and role filters to narrow the results, then open a listing to review the description. A title alone rarely explains the level of responsibility, working arrangement, or experience a team needs. Compare those details before deciding which opportunities deserve a tailored application.
Employers use different titles for similar work. If an exact phrase produces no results, try a shorter title, a core skill, or an alternative name for the role. Remove one filter at a time to understand which requirement is narrowing your search. A broader search can reveal suitable work without asking you to change your actual qualifications.
For each promising listing, read the responsibilities and separate essential requirements from preferences. Note the location, schedule, employment type, and compensation when provided. Missing details are questions to confirm with the employer. A remote opening may still require a particular country, work authorization, or time-zone overlap, so check the full posting before treating it as a location-independent opportunity.
Choose a few examples that demonstrate the skills this employer names. Explain your contribution and its outcome, using accurate numbers where available. Put the most relevant experience first and keep your resume easy to scan. Avoid adding technologies, qualifications, or achievements simply because they appear in a description. Your application should make your existing strengths easier to understand.
Follow the employer’s instructions for resumes, cover letters, work samples, and screening questions. Review the exported file before submitting it: confirm that contact details are correct, text can be selected, and links reach the intended pages. A resume check can help you spot unclear writing before you apply. Its feedback is advisory and does not predict a hiring decision.
Listings are collected from external sources and may change after they appear here. The employer or recruiting destination controls whether applications are open. If an original link is unavailable, check the company’s careers page for the title or move to another opening. An employer website link is a place to check current vacancies, rather than confirmation that a particular job is still accepting applications.
Keep a simple record of the company, role, job reference, application date, and documents you sent. Record any follow-up instructions and the next action you plan to take. This makes it easier to prepare for interviews, compare opportunities, and avoid applying repeatedly to the same opening through different boards. Review your shortlist as employers update their listings and prioritize opportunities with clear requirements that match the work you want to do.
