VP, Information Technology & Cybersecurity
Job Description
Role: VP, Information Technology & Cybersecurity
Location: Toronto, Canada (Open for remote across the USA)
Engagement: Full-time
Overview:
We have an immediate opening for a VP, Information Technology & Cybersecurity with one of our top clients, a globally recognized leader in Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), trusted by many of the world's top fashion, retail, luxury, and consumer goods brands.
This executive role is designed for a strategic leader with 12+ years of experience (including 5+ years at the Director level or above in SaaS/Tech) who can concurrently own global IT operations, enterprise cloud infrastructure, and comprehensive security architecture. In this position, you will manage multi-million-dollar budgets, scale IT services through automation, and drive robust compliance programs anchored on frameworks like ISO 27001, SOC 2, and NIST. Crucially, you will champion AI Risk & Governance—safeguarding corporate data, structuring acceptable use policies, and ensuring compliance with emerging global regulations like the EU AI Act. If you are a high-performing leader with exceptional executive communication skills, strong financial discipline, and a background in SaaS, PLM, or supply chain technology, we would love to discuss this premium opportunity with you.
About the Role
This is one seat with two mandates. You run enterprise IT: the systems, infrastructure, and service delivery a global software company depends on every day. And you are our senior-most security leader: the person the executive team calls first during an incident, the name on our security posture when customers ask hard questions, and the owner of AI risk governance as we adopt emerging technology at speed. Few roles offer this breadth, and fewer still with a seat at the leadership table and a genuine mandate to lead.
The profile we need is specific. Technical enough that engineers respect you and vendors can't bluff you. Business-minded enough that the executive team hears risk framed as dollars, decisions, and trade-offs rather than acronyms. And self-aware enough to know that in this role, how you communicate matters as much as what you know.
Required Qualifications
- 12+ years of progressive experience across information technology and cybersecurity, with 5+ years leading teams at director level or above
- Demonstrated experience owning both an IT function and a security program, ideally concurrently, at a software, SaaS, or technology company
- Fluency with security frameworks (ISO/IEC 27001, NIST CSF, SOC 2) and experience operating a compliance program against them
- Hands-on understanding of modern infrastructure: major cloud platforms, identity and access management, endpoint, and network security tooling
- Track record of managing multi-million-dollar budgets and vendor portfolios with strong financial discipline
- Experience leading incident response at the executive level, including communication to leadership and customers
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CISA, or CCISO
- Direct experience with AI governance frameworks (NIST AI RMF, ISO/IEC 42001) or establishing AI risk management in an enterprise
- Experience in enterprise B2B software where security posture is part of the sales motion (customer security reviews, trust programs)
- Exposure to global, multi-region operations and distributed team leadership
- Familiarity with PLM, supply chain, or retail/fashion technology domains – not a must
