Job description

About Jetson

Jetson is on a mission to accelerate the transition of 100 million homes across North America away from fossil fuels toward sustainable energy use. We believe in a future that is 100% electric and 100% better.

Homes are one of the largest sources of carbon emissions, yet adoption of solutions like heat pumps remains slow due to cost and complexity. Jetson is solving this by building the first fully vertically integrated home electrification company — making clean energy simple, transparent, and affordable.

We rely heavily on technology, automation, and data to scale this impact. At Jetson, we value people who are excellent at their craft, curious about new tools (including AI), and motivated to continuously improve how work gets done.

The Opportunity:

We are looking for an extremely motivated and passionate field operations leader interested in being part of a new, exciting organization fighting climate change by disrupting the residential home services industry.

The Vice President of Field Operations will be responsible for the safe, high-quality and profitable delivery of every heat pump, heat pump water heater and EV charger installation Jetson performs across Canada and the United States. This role leads the General Managers who run each branch, and through them the Field Operations Managers, Field Supervisors, lead installers, electricians and service technicians who are the face of Jetson in our customers’ homes. The VP of Field Operations will set the organizational structure, standards and operating rhythm for field teams in Colorado, British Columbia, Massachusetts, New York and California, and will scale that model into new markets as Jetson grows.

What You Will Do:

  • Develop and execute the field operations strategy to deliver installation volume, quality and margin targets across every market in Canada and the United States.
  • Lead, coach and hold accountable the General Managers who run each branch, ensuring every branch hits its KPIs for installs, revenue, NPS, safety and crew compliance.
  • Define the field organizational structure and roles, including General Managers, Field Operations Managers, Field Supervisors, lead installers, electricians and service technicians, and build a bench of leaders ready for new markets.
  • Own installation quality and first-time-right performance, setting Jetson installation standards and driving down callbacks, rework and warranty cost.
  • Champion a safety-first culture, owning the Jetson Health & Safety program, incident reporting and investigation, and compliance with OSHA, WorkSafeBC and local regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure field teams meet licensing, permitting and inspection requirements in every jurisdiction, including municipality-level permitting where no statewide framework exists.
  • Drive crew productivity and capacity planning, balancing in-house crews and subcontractor partners to meet demand without sacrificing quality or customer experience.
  • Partner closely with the VP of Customer & Service Operations to align scheduling, system design, project coordination and technical service with field throughput, so every job is ready to install and every install closes out cleanly.
  • Own the field technology stack, including Zuper, in partnership with Customer Operations and Systems, to improve dispatch, job checklists, commissioning and real-time job visibility.
  • Lead fleet, tools, uniforms and warehouse operations in partnership with Supply Chain, ensuring crews are equipped, stocked and on brand.
  • Build and run recruiting, onboarding, training and leveling programs for field roles, including installer certification and apprenticeship pathways, with People Operations.
  • Lead new market launches in partnership with the Expansion team, standing up branches, hiring local leadership and bringing them to steady-state performance.
  • Develop and manage field operating budgets and branch P&Ls, driving labour efficiency, materials cost control and installation margin.
  • Define, report and act on field KPIs, providing clear performance visibility to the executive team.

What You Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Construction Management, Engineering or a related field (MBA preferred), or equivalent field leadership experience.
  • 10+ years of field operations experience in residential HVAC, home services, solar, electrical or construction, including 5+ years leading multi-branch or multi-market operations.
  • Experience taking a field operation from startup to scale up across geographically dispersed locations.
  • Proven experience leading General Managers and large field teams across the United States and Canada, including a mix of in-house crews and subcontractors.
  • Deep working knowledge of heat pump and HVAC installation, electrical scopes, permitting and inspections.
  • A strong safety record and experience building safety programs and culture in a field environment.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience managing budgets, branch P&Ls, labour productivity and cost-control measures.
  • Experience with field service management and dispatch platforms such as Zuper or ServiceTitan, and CRM platforms such as HubSpot.
  • Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions to drive operational excellence.
  • Excellent leadership, coaching, communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Willingness to travel frequently across the U.S. and Canada as needed.

Prepare your application

Use the description above to assess your fit for Jetson. This checklist is guidance from Resumize, rather than additional requirements from the employer. Imported listings can be shortened or change after collection, so confirm the complete description and current availability before sending an application.

Match requirements to evidence

Identify the responsibilities and skills the employer explicitly names. For each important requirement, choose one example from your work, education, training, or projects. Explain what you did, how you did it, and what changed as a result. Include a measurable outcome when you can support it. If you lack a requirement, describe related experience accurately instead of adding an unfamiliar skill to your resume.

Put the most relevant examples near the top of your resume. Keep job titles, dates, qualifications, and contact details consistent across your application materials. Use the employer’s terminology when it describes your experience accurately; a copied list of keywords does not explain your contribution. A short, specific bullet is easier to review than a paragraph that mixes several unrelated duties.

Check the working arrangement

Confirm the location, schedule, employment type, and any eligibility requirements on the employer’s site. A remote label does not establish worldwide eligibility or flexible hours. If compensation, benefits, equipment, travel, or contract duration are missing from this listing, write down your questions for the recruiter. Do not assume details from another opening at the same company apply to this role.

Review before submitting

Follow the employer’s requested file format and application instructions. Open your exported resume and check that its text is selectable, its sections read in order, and its links work. Proofread names, dates, and contact information. Share confidential work samples only when you have permission, and use an anonymized example when necessary.

Submit through a trusted employer or recruiting destination. If the original listing has disappeared, search the employer’s careers page for the title rather than assuming the vacancy remains open. Save the application date, job reference, and the version of your resume you sent. Those details help you prepare for a later conversation and avoid submitting conflicting information through several job boards.

Review your resume for writing and readability feedback, or browse other openings if this opportunity is unavailable.
