User Experience Designer
Job Description
Company Description
Oraton is an AI-powered executive communication coaching company that helps C-Suite leaders strengthen the communication skills that move markets, influence boards, and drive organizational impact. Through realistic scenario simulations and targeted coaching, Oraton enables leaders to practice high-stakes conversations with immediate, structured feedback on authority, clarity, narrative, and impact. The platform focuses on measurable progress across sessions, allowing executives to iterate quickly and see tangible improvement in their communication performance. Oraton is used by senior leaders across Fortune 500 companies, private equity–backed scale-ups, and high-growth boards, and is available on iOS, Android, and the web.
Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role based in Bangalore Urban for a UX/UI Designer. You will own the visual and product design across everything a user or prospect sees — the marketing website, the iOS/Android app experience, the weekly newsletter, and the post-session coaching reports that turn a 10-minute conversation into a moment of real insight. Oraton is priced and positioned as a premium product for senior leaders, and the design should reflect that at every touchpoint — restrained, considered, and never cluttered or "growth-hacky." You will work directly with the founders (one of whom is the full-stack engineer building the product) and have significant ownership over how Oraton looks, feels and functions across every surface.
We are not looking for someone who translates a spec into screens. We are looking for someone who thinks about the emotional experience of a senior leader who is nervous about a difficult conversation, and designs a product and brand that make them feel coached, not judged. You should be as comfortable questioning a flow as executing it.
What you will own
Website
- Design and maintain speakwithoraton.com — landing pages, feature pages, pricing, blog templates
- Design conversion-focused pages for paid and organic campaigns, working with founders on messaging and layout
- Keep the website visually consistent with the app and brand as both evolve
Mobile app (iOS and Android)
- Design core user flows — recording sessions, AI roleplay conversations, post-session coaching reports, calendar integration, and onboarding
- Own the design system — components, typography, spacing, motion — and keep it consistent across iOS, Android and web
- Design for a senior, time-poor, non-technical user — clarity and restraint matter more than novelty
- Prototype and test new features before engineering builds them — flag usability risks early, not after ship
Newsletter
- Design the weekly newsletter template and layout in Kit.com, working with the content team on structure and visual hierarchy
- Design supporting graphics, headers and visual assets for individual newsletter editions
- Iterate on format based on open rates, click-through and reader feedback
Reports
- Translate complex, structured session data (scores, trait-level feedback, milestones) into post-session reports that feel simple and motivating rather than clinical
- Design report layouts that work both in-app and as shareable/exportable formats
- Work with the founder-engineer to understand the underlying data schema so report designs are realistic to build
Research and iteration
- Run lightweight user research — interviews, usability tests, session recordings — to understand how users actually experience Oraton
- Use product analytics and support conversations to identify friction points and drop-off, and turn them into design fixes
- Iterate quickly with the founders in a fast-moving, early-stage environment — this is not a role with long design-review cycles
Who you are
- 3-6 years of UX/UI design experience, ideally with both product (app/web) and communication design (email/reports) in your portfolio
- A strong portfolio showing both visual craft and product thinking — not just polished screens, but evidence you understand why a flow or layout works
- Experience designing for a premium or high-end brand — you understand how restraint, whitespace, typography and detail signal quality, and you instinctively avoid anything that feels cluttered, cheap or "growth-hacky"
- Fluent in Figma, including component-based design systems and prototyping
- Comfortable designing for iOS and Android native patterns as well as responsive web
- Experience designing for email/newsletter platforms (Kit.com experience a plus, not required)
- Able to work directly with an engineer-founder — you can hand off clean, implementable designs and adapt quickly when technical constraints show up
- Genuinely interested in behavioral psychology, communication and how people build confidence — this shows up in the product's tone, not just its layout
- Self-directed and comfortable with ambiguity — this is an early-stage startup with no design team to lean on yet
- Based in Bangalore or willing to relocate
