Toronto, ON- Hybrid, 2 days per week onsite preferred
12 Months Contract

Key Responsibilities:
- Leverage emerging AI tools and technologies to enhance design workflows, accelerate ideation, improve research synthesis, and create innovative user experiences.
- Lead end-to-end product design initiatives, from discovery and concept development through execution, validation, and launch.
- Collaborate closely with researchers, product managers, engineers, data analysts, and business stakeholders to understand user needs, technical constraints, and business objectives, translating insights into impactful product solutions.
- Drive product strategy by identifying opportunities, defining user experience vision, and aligning design outcomes with business goals and customer value.
- Create user flows, wireframes, high-fidelity designs, prototypes, and design specifications that communicate ideas effectively across teams.
- Advocate for user-centered design principles while balancing customer needs, technical feasibility, and business priorities.
- Conduct and synthesize user research, usability testing, analytics, and customer feedback to inform design decisions and continuously improve experiences.
- Contribute to and evolve design systems, interaction patterns, and accessibility standards to ensure consistency and scalability across products.
- Partner with engineering teams throughout implementation to ensure design quality and seamless user experiences.
- Mentor and support junior designers through design critiques, coaching, and knowledge sharing, fostering a culture of continuous learning and design excellence.
- Facilitate workshops, design reviews, and cross-functional discussions to build alignment and drive decision-making.
- Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, AI-driven experiences, and best practices in product design, accessibility, and innovation.
Qualifications & Experience:
- 5+ years of experience in Product Design, UX Design, Interaction Design, or related fields, supported by a strong portfolio showcasing end-to-end product thinking and measurable business impact.
- Proven expertise in designing complex digital products, enterprise platforms, SaaS solutions, or data-intensive applications.
- Proficiency in modern design and prototyping tools such as Figma, Sketch, or equivalent design platforms.
- Experience utilizing AI-powered design, research, or productivity tools to improve design outcomes and team efficiency.
- Strong understanding of design systems, information architecture, interaction design, visual design, and accessibility best practices.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct user research, usability testing, and data-driven analysis to validate assumptions and guide product decisions.
- Experience working within Agile product development environments and collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to connect user experience improvements to customer satisfaction, product adoption, and business outcomes.
- Excellent communication, storytelling, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence decisions at multiple organizational levels.
- Deep understanding of accessibility standards (WCAG) and inclusive design principles.
- Experience with rapid prototyping, experimentation, and iterative product development in fast-paced environments.
- Familiarity with modern development workflows, design-to-development handoff processes, and collaboration with engineering teams throughout implementation.
Good to Have:
- Experience designing AI-powered products, conversational interfaces, or intelligent user experiences.
- Experience defining product strategy, leading design initiatives, and influencing roadmap decisions.
- Previous experience mentoring designers and contributing to the growth of a design practice.
- Understanding of analytics tools and experimentation frameworks for measuring design effectiveness.
