Job description

Join the Utility Team!

Utility is an end-to-end mobile app and digital platform agency, focused on designing and engineering innovative, transformative technology. Our clients are premier global brands and new ventures across the wellness, fitness, entertainment, streaming, and educational spaces. Founded by digital leaders from companies like Major League Baseball and McCann Erickson, Utility is built by folks who have been on the other side of the table. We treat every project as if it were our own, from startup ventures to blue-chip brands.

Who You Are

You are passionate, curious, organized, and eager to deliver. You will be working collaboratively with a talented and diverse team of product strategists, UX/UI designers, and software engineers. This is a position that has a significant impact on our projects’ end users, our team’s efficiency, and most importantly, our client’s bottom line. We are here to break the mold. We design and build industry-leading digital products, from mobile apps and web properties to machine learning and AI, as we position our clients as innovators in their industries. And that starts with you.

What You'll Do

  • Driving agile product design & development and guiding the overall creation and release of nascent end-to-end digital products
  • Owning communication and collaboration for various project areas: design members, engineering teams, marketing partners, and product leadership.
  • Work with the Product team to create, guide, and communicate project plans and business goals to ensure alignment and drive convergent implementation.
  • Manage the project scopes and deadlines, overseeing a sustainable workflow for your team while keeping focus on the key client objectives.
  • Alongside leadership, help establish scopes of work and document detailed requirements, ensuring the accuracy of all project deliverables against approved requirements and scope.
  • Engage directly with clients and manage account details, project scopes, and relationships.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience, preferably within a product or agency environment, implementing and launching user-centric software application solutions.
  • End-to-end software development lifecycle experience across multiple digital platforms (mobile applications a plus).
  • A firm grip on agile project management methodologies, and flexible implementation methods to hit milestones and deadlines.
  • Ability to build strong, collaborative relationships with colleagues and clients, motivating and mentoring your teams along the way.
  • Strong PM organizational skills. You’ll be maintaining product backlogs that rely on detailed acceptance criteria to support the development lifecycle.
  • You’re an inspirational team player. Your skills are important, but we are a company of kind, passionate, talented people who want to help each other succeed.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary
  • 100% remote
  • PTO policy: unlimited (within reason)
  • Holidays policy: Local holidays apply
  • Additional benefits: Growth Potential, Flexible Work Location, Company Branded Swag Package, Professional Personal Development Support

Prepare your application

Use the description above to assess your fit for Utility. This checklist is guidance from Resumize, rather than additional requirements from the employer. Imported listings can be shortened or change after collection, so confirm the complete description and current availability before sending an application.

Match requirements to evidence

Identify the responsibilities and skills the employer explicitly names. For each important requirement, choose one example from your work, education, training, or projects. Explain what you did, how you did it, and what changed as a result. Include a measurable outcome when you can support it. If you lack a requirement, describe related experience accurately instead of adding an unfamiliar skill to your resume.

Put the most relevant examples near the top of your resume. Keep job titles, dates, qualifications, and contact details consistent across your application materials. Use the employer’s terminology when it describes your experience accurately; a copied list of keywords does not explain your contribution. A short, specific bullet is easier to review than a paragraph that mixes several unrelated duties.

Check the working arrangement

Confirm the location, schedule, employment type, and any eligibility requirements on the employer’s site. A remote label does not establish worldwide eligibility or flexible hours. If compensation, benefits, equipment, travel, or contract duration are missing from this listing, write down your questions for the recruiter. Do not assume details from another opening at the same company apply to this role.

Review before submitting

Follow the employer’s requested file format and application instructions. Open your exported resume and check that its text is selectable, its sections read in order, and its links work. Proofread names, dates, and contact information. Share confidential work samples only when you have permission, and use an anonymized example when necessary.

Submit through a trusted employer or recruiting destination. If the original listing has disappeared, search the employer’s careers page for the title rather than assuming the vacancy remains open. Save the application date, job reference, and the version of your resume you sent. Those details help you prepare for a later conversation and avoid submitting conflicting information through several job boards.

Review your resume for writing and readability feedback, or browse other openings if this opportunity is unavailable.
