The Team The Worksite Technology team is expanding its investment in digital capabilities and platform modernization. You will work alongside engineers, architects, product owners, and vendor partners to transform the current ecosystem into a cloud-first, API-driven, event-enabled architecture. This team is responsible for building and operating platforms that support Worksite products, with a strong focus on customer experience, resilience, and scalability. The Impact As a Technical Product Manager, you will play a critical role in delivering reliable, high-performing technology solutions that support business growth and operational excellence. Technical Product Ownership Own the technical product vision, roadmap, and backlog, aligning business objectives with scalable technology solutionsTranslate business requirements into architecture-aligned designs and executable delivery plansDrive prioritization across features, defects, and technical improvements Engineering Delivery & Leadership Lead cross-functional teams (engineering, QA, analysts) to deliver high-quality, predictable outcomesDrive Agile execution, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, and release coordinationParticipate in solution design, architecture reviews, and technical decision-making DevOps, Stability & Incident Management Act as the technical owner for platform stability and production operationsLead incident triage, major incident management, root cause analysis, and resolution planningEnsure systems meet availability, performance, and reliability targetsDrive enhancements in monitoring, observability, and operational processes Vendor & Partner Management Serve as the primary technical interface to vendorsEnforce SLAs, delivery quality, and engineering standards complianceEnsure operational readiness, including support models, documentation, and incident processesConduct vendor reviews and drive continuous improvement System Design & Integration Drive delivery of microservices-based, API-first, and event-driven solutionsOversee integrations using Kafka, APIs, and Managed File Transfer (MFT)Guide implementation of batch processing, scheduling, and rules engines (OpenL)Ensure alignment with enterprise architecture and cloud strategy Operational Excellence & Continuous Improvement Drive adoption of CI/CD pipelines, automation, and DevOps practicesEnsure readiness for production deployment, release validation, and post-release stabilizationImprove system performance, deployment frequency, and release quality Stakeholder Collaboration Partner with business leaders, architecture teams, operations, and vendorsCommunicate technical tradeoffs, risks, and delivery status clearly and proactivelyProvide transparent reporting and proactive risk mitigation The Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or related technical field (or equivalent experience)8+ years of experience in technical product management, software engineering, DevOps, or platform engineering8+ years of experience leading end-to-end delivery of enterprise applications in Agile environments8+ years of experience working with cloud-native and distributed systems architectures The Ideal Qualifications Strong background in production support, incident management, and vendor-hosted platformsProven ability to translate business needs into scalable technical solutionsStrong communication, ownership mindset, and execution disciplineStrong hands-on knowledge of:Java, Spring Boot, and microservices architectureEvent-driven systems and Kafka streamingAPI design and integration patterns (REST, async messaging)Frontend frameworks (React)Rules engines (OpenL)Batch processing and scheduling tools (Cron or equivalent)Managed File Transfer (MFT)AWS cloud services and cloud-native architecturesExperience with:CI/CD pipelines, DevOps tooling, and observability frameworksVendor-led delivery models and SLA governanceFinancial Services, Insurance or regulated industry platformsSupporting supplemental/worksite insurance productsAbility to:Lead technical design discussions and influence architecture decisionsBalance product priorities with technical constraints and operational needsOperate effectively in fast-paced, complex enterprise environmentsDrive continuous improvement in system reliability and delivery practices What You Can Expect at MassMutual MassMutual offers the opportunity to do meaningful work within a purpose-driven organization that values long-term impact over short-term outcomes.
