Sterile Processing Technician (SPT) Providence Holy Family Hospital – Spokane, WA Department: Surgical Services Shift: Mid Shift (2:00 PM – 10:30 PM) Key Responsibilities: Decontaminated, cleaned, inspected, assembled, sterilized, and distributed surgical instruments and medical equipment according to AAMI, AORN, and hospital infection control standards.Operated steam sterilizers, low-temperature sterilization systems, ultrasonic cleaners, and automated washer-disinfectors.Performed instrument inspection for cleanliness, functionality, and integrity prior to sterilization and case cart preparation.Assembled surgical instrument trays and specialty procedure sets accurately based on surgeon preference cards and count sheets.Prepared and delivered case carts to the Operating Room, ensuring all required instruments and supplies were available for scheduled procedures.Monitored sterilization cycles, documented biological, chemical, and mechanical indicators, and maintained accurate sterilization records.Managed sterile inventory, stocked supplies, rotated inventory, and ensured proper storage of sterile items.Collaborated with Operating Room staff, anesthesia, and surgical teams to support efficient surgical workflow and rapid instrument turnaround.Performed quality assurance checks and maintained compliance with Joint Commission, OSHA, CDC, and hospital policies.Identified damaged instruments, coordinated repairs and replacements, and maintained instrument tracking systems.Maintained a clean, organized, and safe Sterile Processing Department while adhering to infection prevention and safety protocols.Supported emergency and add-on surgical cases by prioritizing instrument processing and timely delivery.Required Skills: Sterilization & High-Level DisinfectionInstrument Decontamination & AssemblySurgical Instrument IdentificationCase Cart PreparationSteam & Low-Temperature SterilizationInfection Prevention & ControlInstrument Tracking SystemsQuality Assurance DocumentationAAMI & AORN StandardsTeam Collaboration and Time Management Company DescriptionLanceSoft is rated as one of the largest staffing firms in the US by SIA.
