Job description

About Scento

Scento is Europe's largest perfume decant website. Founded in 2024 and headquartered in Paris on Place Vendôme, with a second office in Berlin, Scento offers more than 1,000 original designer and niche perfumes from a roster of 200 houses as perfume decants: 2 ml, 5 ml and 8 ml vials plus a 30 ml bottle on most perfumes. Niche perfume samples and designer fragrance samples let people discover a scent before they commit to a full bottle. Every perfume is an original bought from authorised European retailers, and every bottle passes a 12-point intake check at Scento's ISO-certified facility before it is decanted.

Scento serves customers in 27 European markets and ships to 26 EU countries. In 2026, Scento's annual revenue is more than €30 million, online and offline sales combined. On , monthly decant sales in September 2026 were 3.2 times those of January 2026. Scento says it sells more than 3 million perfume decants a year, about one every 10 seconds. In November 2025, Scento announced it would invest €25 million over three years in European perfume discovery.

The role

Scento runs its own storefront in Next.js and its own commerce backend on Medusa, Node.js, TypeScript and PostgreSQL, with a checkout built in-house on Stripe. It serves customers in 27 European markets, and seasonal peaks such as the perfume advent calendar put real pressure on every layer.

As Staff Full-Stack Engineer you set the technical direction. You make the hard architectural calls, raise the bar for performance and reliability, and pull the engineers around you forward. Success means a platform that stays fast, safe and easy to change as Scento scales.

What you'll do

  • Shape the architecture of Scento's commerce platform across the Next.js storefront and the Medusa backend on PostgreSQL.

  • Build and harden Scento's own checkout with Stripe, including multi-currency and multi-language support.

  • Lead on performance and Core Web Vitals so every page feels instant on every device.

  • Drive reliability, observability and security, from monitoring to incident learning.

  • Set engineering standards, review code and mentor engineers at every level.

  • Work directly with product, growth and operations on features that move the business.

What you'll bring

  • 10+ years building production web systems, several of them at staff or principal level.

  • Expert TypeScript, React and Next.js, with strong Node.js and PostgreSQL.

  • Experience with payments, headless commerce or high-traffic e-commerce.

  • Fluent English.

What we offer

  • Salary at the top of the market plus an annual performance bonus.

  • Remote-friendly within the EU, with offices in Paris (Place Vendôme) and Berlin.

  • The equipment of your choice and a home-office budget.

  • A personal learning budget of €2,500 a year for courses, conferences and books.

  • 30 days of paid holiday a year, plus public holidays.

  • A generous monthly perfume allowance to explore the whole catalogue.

  • Real ownership and fast decisions in a company scaling quickly across Europe.

Salary and how to apply

Salary: €140,000 – €185,000 gross per year, full-time, permanent contract, plus an annual performance bonus.

Location: Berlin or Paris, or remote from anywhere in the EU.

To apply, email your CV and LinkedIn profile (and portfolio, if you have one) to with “Staff Full-Stack Engineer (Next.js, Medusa)” in the subject line.

Prepare your application

Use the description above to assess your fit for Scento. This checklist is guidance from Resumize, rather than additional requirements from the employer. Imported listings can be shortened or change after collection, so confirm the complete description and current availability before sending an application.

Match requirements to evidence

Identify the responsibilities and skills the employer explicitly names. For each important requirement, choose one example from your work, education, training, or projects. Explain what you did, how you did it, and what changed as a result. Include a measurable outcome when you can support it. If you lack a requirement, describe related experience accurately instead of adding an unfamiliar skill to your resume.

Put the most relevant examples near the top of your resume. Keep job titles, dates, qualifications, and contact details consistent across your application materials. Use the employer’s terminology when it describes your experience accurately; a copied list of keywords does not explain your contribution. A short, specific bullet is easier to review than a paragraph that mixes several unrelated duties.

Check the working arrangement

Confirm the location, schedule, employment type, and any eligibility requirements on the employer’s site. A remote label does not establish worldwide eligibility or flexible hours. If compensation, benefits, equipment, travel, or contract duration are missing from this listing, write down your questions for the recruiter. Do not assume details from another opening at the same company apply to this role.

Review before submitting

Follow the employer’s requested file format and application instructions. Open your exported resume and check that its text is selectable, its sections read in order, and its links work. Proofread names, dates, and contact information. Share confidential work samples only when you have permission, and use an anonymized example when necessary.

Submit through a trusted employer or recruiting destination. If the original listing has disappeared, search the employer’s careers page for the title rather than assuming the vacancy remains open. Save the application date, job reference, and the version of your resume you sent. Those details help you prepare for a later conversation and avoid submitting conflicting information through several job boards.

Review your resume for writing and readability feedback, or browse other openings if this opportunity is unavailable.
