Job description
Monthly rate: USD 4,500–6,000/month contractor fee excl. VAT (≈ GEL 11,700–15,600)
Location: Fully remote from anywhere in Georgia
Team: Engineering (London + Kraków, GMT/CET hours)
Houst manages thousands of short-let homes in 20+ cities, from London and Lisbon to Auckland. Behind the scenes our platform does the heavy lifting: listing automation, 24/7 guest messaging, dynamic pricing, cleaning and maintenance scheduling, payouts, and integrations with Airbnb, Booking.com and dozens of other partners.
We are a small, senior engineering team, and we build with AI as a core part of the workflow, not a side experiment. Agents write and review code with us, docs are generated from source, and we measure the gains. We are hiring our first engineer in Georgia to extend that team.
The role
This is a hands-on individual-contributor role with no direct reports. Python backend work comes first, React second. You will own features end to end, working directly with product, operations and growth. You will be expected to use AI tooling heavily and well: planning with it, generating and reviewing code with it, and knowing exactly when not to trust it.
What you will do
- Design, build and ship backend services and APIs (Python 3, Flask, SQLAlchemy, PostgreSQL, Redis) and the React / React Native frontends they power
- Lead by example on AI-assisted development: agentic coding tools, prompt and context engineering, automated review, test generation, and the evaluation that proves they help
- Set and uphold the engineering bar: CI, peer review, automated testing, observability, safe releases on AWS
- Integrate with third-party platforms (Airbnb, booking channels, payments, messaging) and keep those integrations reliable
- Pair with product and ops to turn messy real-world hosting problems into shipped software
- Mentor through review and example; help the wider team adopt what works
Requirements
- 6+ years of professional software development, with deep hands-on Python and solid React; you are highly technical and still code every day
- Daily, serious use of AI coding tools (Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or similar) in real production work, and clear opinions on where they help and where they hurt
- Strong API design, relational database and CI/CD experience (PostgreSQL, Docker, GitHub Actions or CircleCI, AWS)
- A track record of shipping and operating production systems: you have been paged, you have fixed it, you have made sure it does not happen again
- Fluent written and spoken English; you will work with a team in London and Kraków
- Based in Georgia and able to work as an independent contractor
Nice to have
- Experience building agentic workflows or LLM features into a product (tool use, evals, prompt caching, cost control)
- React Native, Elastic Stack, or proptech / travel / marketplace background
Benefits
- USD 4,500–6,000/month contractor fee excl. VAT (≈ GEL 11,700–15,600)
- Fully remote from anywhere in Georgia (Tbilisi, Batumi, Kutaisi or elsewhere), with overlap to UK working hours
- Latest AI tooling paid for and expected to be used
- A direct line to the CEO and real influence over how a fast-growing proptech is built
- An international, collaborative team that values quality, speed and curiosity

Prepare your application
Use the description above to assess your fit for Houst. This checklist is guidance from Resumize, rather than additional requirements from the employer. Imported listings can be shortened or change after collection, so confirm the complete description and current availability before sending an application.
Match requirements to evidence
Identify the responsibilities and skills the employer explicitly names. For each important requirement, choose one example from your work, education, training, or projects. Explain what you did, how you did it, and what changed as a result. Include a measurable outcome when you can support it. If you lack a requirement, describe related experience accurately instead of adding an unfamiliar skill to your resume.
Put the most relevant examples near the top of your resume. Keep job titles, dates, qualifications, and contact details consistent across your application materials. Use the employer’s terminology when it describes your experience accurately; a copied list of keywords does not explain your contribution. A short, specific bullet is easier to review than a paragraph that mixes several unrelated duties.
Check the working arrangement
Confirm the location, schedule, employment type, and any eligibility requirements on the employer’s site. A remote label does not establish worldwide eligibility or flexible hours. If compensation, benefits, equipment, travel, or contract duration are missing from this listing, write down your questions for the recruiter. Do not assume details from another opening at the same company apply to this role.
Review before submitting
Follow the employer’s requested file format and application instructions. Open your exported resume and check that its text is selectable, its sections read in order, and its links work. Proofread names, dates, and contact information. Share confidential work samples only when you have permission, and use an anonymized example when necessary.
Submit through a trusted employer or recruiting destination. If the original listing has disappeared, search the employer’s careers page for the title rather than assuming the vacancy remains open. Save the application date, job reference, and the version of your resume you sent. Those details help you prepare for a later conversation and avoid submitting conflicting information through several job boards.
Review your resume for writing and readability feedback, or browse other openings if this opportunity is unavailable.
