Job SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer to join the Dashboard Build team supporting Cisco through Cognizant. This role focuses on designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable build and deployment infrastructure that enhances developer productivity while meeting stringent FedRAMP High and DoD IL5 compliance requirements. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in CI/CD, build and release engineering, cloud-native technologies, automation, and developer tooling.
Required Skills5+ years of experience in Software Engineering, Build Engineering, or Release EngineeringStrong experience with CI/CD platforms including Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, TeamCity, Buildkite, CircleCI, or similarExpertise with Git, GitHub, and GitLab version control systemsExperience with Docker, Kubernetes, Artifactory, and AWSStrong Linux administration and troubleshooting skillsProficiency in Shell scripting, Groovy, Ruby, or PythonExperience with JavaScript/TypeScript build pipelinesExperience supporting React.js toolchainsHands-on experience with Ruby on Rails applications and RSpec testing pipelinesKnowledge of DevOps best practices and infrastructure automationExcellent troubleshooting, communication, and collaboration skillsPreferred SkillsFedRAMP Moderate/High or DoD IL4/IL5 experienceAWS GovCloud or Azure Government experienceInfrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation)Secrets management (Vault, AWS Secrets Manager)Zero Trust architectureService Mesh technologiesElastic Stack (ELK)Grafana monitoring and visualizationSecurity compliance automationNetworking fundamentalsRoles & ResponsibilitiesDesign, implement, and maintain highly available build and deployment systems.Develop scalable CI/CD pipelines that improve software delivery efficiency.Build secure deployment workflows that satisfy FedRAMP High and DoD IL5 compliance.Implement access controls, audit logging, secrets management, and compliance evidence collection.Monitor build health, deployment success rates, and developer productivity metrics.Collaborate with Product Engineering teams to improve development workflows.Partner with Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) teams to ensure platform scalability and reliability.Troubleshoot build failures and coordinate resolution across engineering teams.Improve automation to reduce technical debt and manual processes.Support containerized application builds using Docker and Kubernetes.Optimize React and Ruby on Rails build pipelines.Maintain Linux-based build infrastructure and automation tooling.Participate in incident response and continuous process improvement initiatives.QualificationsBachelor''s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.Minimum 5 years of professional experience in Build Engineering, DevOps, Release Engineering, or Software Engineering.Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies.Experience designing scalable build systems and automation frameworks.Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Nice to HaveExperience working in highly regulated cloud environments.AWS GovCloud or Azure Government deployments.Kubernetes platform administration.Infrastructure automation using Terraform or CloudFormation.Experience with compliance frameworks including FedRAMP, FISMA, GovRAMP, or DoD IL5.Knowledge of observability platforms including Grafana and Elastic Stack.Background in networking and cloud security.
