Job description

ABOUT ROCKET MONEY 🔮

Financial security shouldn’t be a privilege. Yet, Americans carry $1.26 trillion in credit card debt¹, nearly one in four has no emergency savings², and only 46% of households reported retirement-account savings³. Rocket Money's mission is to meaningfully improve people's financial prosperity for millions of people.

Few companies combine Rocket Money’s reach, member trust, and understanding of people’s financial lives. Our vision: money that works for you, without making you work for it. With advances in automation and AI, we can go beyond helping members understand their finances to helping them improve their financial health, paying down debt, saving and growing their money automatically.

We’re looking for a Senior Product Manager to build a new investing product from 0→1, then grow and scale it into a core part of Rocket Money’s future. With end-to-end ownership and direct access to senior leadership, you’ll have the reach of an established platform, the impact of a small team, and the opportunity to improve millions of financial lives.

ABOUT THE ROLE 🤹‍♀️

You’ll lead a small, decisive product team with engineering and UX to build a new investing product from 0→1, find product-market fit, and grow it into a sustainable part of our business. Together, you’ll uncover meaningful member needs, test the hardest assumptions, and build a simple, trustworthy experience. You’ll shape product direction, make clear prioritization decisions, and own outcomes from discovery through launch and scale.

The opportunity goes beyond launching another product: you’ll help make Rocket Money a place members turn to not just to manage today’s finances, but to build their financial future. What you build will give members new reasons to stay and grow with us, and help shape Rocket Money’s next chapter.

This is a senior individual contributor role reporting to the Group Product Manager, Financial Products, with close partnership with the Vice President of Financial Products and senior leadership. You’ll collaborate with engineering, design, data, operations, marketing, finance, legal, compliance, and external financial partners. You’ll pair strategic judgment with hands-on execution—from roadmap and discovery to integrations and activation and retention analysis. Success means building a product members value and a business that grows, not simply shipping features.

WHAT YOU'LL DO 🛠️

Find the Right Problem and Define the Strategy 🎯

  • Build a deep understanding of our members' financial lives, goals, and unmet needs through customer research, behavioral data, and market insights
  • Define who we're building for first, why they'll choose Rocket Money, and how the product fits into their broader financial journey
  • Develop an evidence-backed product strategy, clear priorities, and what not to build

Build and Launch a New Product 🚀

  • Define a focused MVP and lead development from discovery and prototyping through launch; make thoughtful trade-offs between speed, scope, quality, and risk
  • Partner with design and engineering to test the riskiest assumptions before committing to a full build
  • Shape the end-to-end member experience, from discovering the product and getting started to using it regularly and understanding its value
  • Work with operations, marketing, and support to make launch readiness more than a release date: clear education, reliable workflows, and phased rollout

Own the Financial Product Experience End-to-End 🤝

  • Work as a product trio with engineering and UX to identify meaningful customer problems, test solutions, and build great products. Bring an end-to-end ownership mindset—from discovery through launch and iteration—with accountability for quality and outcomes
  • Work with cross-functional partners and senior leadership across design, engineering, marketing, fraud, operations, and legal to turn complex financial workflows into simple experiences, making day-to-day decisions about scope, behavior, and trade-offs

Grow and Scale the Product 📈

  • Own outcomes beyond launch: activation, engagement, retention, and business growth; define measures that reflect genuine member value, not just usage
  • Identify the biggest barriers to adoption and ongoing value; partner with design, engineering, marketing, and lifecycle teams to test and scale improvements
  • Instrument the experience, analyze funnels and cohorts, and combine experiments with qualitative feedback to decide what to improve, scale, or stop
  • Keep the team and leadership aligned on what we're learning, what is changing, and why

ABOUT YOU 🦄

  • Product builder. Proven track record owning the full product lifecycle—from identifying a customer problem through discovery, design, development, launch, and iteration—delivering high-quality experiences and measurable business results.
  • 0→1 impact. You’ve built new products from scratch: turning an ambiguous opportunity into a clear proposition, testing the riskiest assumptions, defining a focused MVP, and iterating with early customers toward product-market fit.
  • Financial products experience & curiosity. You’ve built consumer financial products in a regulated environment and are passionate about improving people’s financial lives. You bring experience without assuming you have all the answers—staying curious, testing assumptions, and learning from customers and new evidence.
  • Outstanding intellectual ability. You learn quickly, synthesize complex information into clear decisions, and update your thinking as evidence changes.
  • Product sense & customer understanding. You uncover needs through research and data, simplify complex experiences, and know what to build — and what not to.
  • Strategic & analytical thinking. You turn customer insights, product data, and business economics into clear priorities, even with incomplete information.
  • Communication & cross-functional leadership. You communicate clearly, build alignment, navigate disagreement, and lead teams to deliver without formal authority.
  • Technical fluency. You work confidently with engineering on APIs, integrations, and edge cases to make sound product trade-offs.
  • AI fluency & curiosity. You’re excited about where AI is headed and already use AI tools every day to learn faster and ship faster. You know when to lean on them and when to apply your own judgment, expertise, and taste to make sound product decisions.

Prepare your application

Use the description above to assess your fit for Rocket Money. This checklist is guidance from Resumize, rather than additional requirements from the employer. Imported listings can be shortened or change after collection, so confirm the complete description and current availability before sending an application.

Match requirements to evidence

Identify the responsibilities and skills the employer explicitly names. For each important requirement, choose one example from your work, education, training, or projects. Explain what you did, how you did it, and what changed as a result. Include a measurable outcome when you can support it. If you lack a requirement, describe related experience accurately instead of adding an unfamiliar skill to your resume.

Put the most relevant examples near the top of your resume. Keep job titles, dates, qualifications, and contact details consistent across your application materials. Use the employer’s terminology when it describes your experience accurately; a copied list of keywords does not explain your contribution. A short, specific bullet is easier to review than a paragraph that mixes several unrelated duties.

Check the working arrangement

Confirm the location, schedule, employment type, and any eligibility requirements on the employer’s site. A remote label does not establish worldwide eligibility or flexible hours. If compensation, benefits, equipment, travel, or contract duration are missing from this listing, write down your questions for the recruiter. Do not assume details from another opening at the same company apply to this role.

Review before submitting

Follow the employer’s requested file format and application instructions. Open your exported resume and check that its text is selectable, its sections read in order, and its links work. Proofread names, dates, and contact information. Share confidential work samples only when you have permission, and use an anonymized example when necessary.

Submit through a trusted employer or recruiting destination. If the original listing has disappeared, search the employer’s careers page for the title rather than assuming the vacancy remains open. Save the application date, job reference, and the version of your resume you sent. Those details help you prepare for a later conversation and avoid submitting conflicting information through several job boards.

Review your resume for writing and readability feedback, or browse other openings if this opportunity is unavailable.
