Job description

About the Role

We are looking for a hands-on, AI-native Senior Product Designer/UX Consultant to modernize complex operational workflows across approximately 70–80 major application routes and hundreds of functional interfaces.

This is not primarily a visual design role. The focus is on understanding existing workflows, uncovering undocumented business rules, simplifying user experiences, and delivering practical, implementation-ready designs.

The ideal consultant combines strong B2B SaaS product design experience, technical fluency, and advanced AI proficiency. You should be comfortable using AI to accelerate discovery, research, workflow analysis, prototyping, documentation, and engineering handoffs—while independently validating its output.

With approximately 20 hours per week, you must work autonomously, prioritize effectively, and deliver measurable improvements.

Key Responsibilities

  • AI-Native Design: Leverage AI throughout product discovery, workflow analysis, research synthesis, prototyping, and documentation. Validate AI-generated outputs for accuracy, usability, and completeness.
  • Workflow Modernization: Analyze and simplify complex workflows across estimating, inventory, scheduling, invoicing, payments, and CRM while preserving critical legacy functionality and business rules.
  • UX/UI Design: Create user flows, wireframes, interactive prototypes, and developer-ready Figma designs covering interactions, validations, permissions, and edge cases.
  • Design Systems: Establish reusable components and UX patterns for navigation, forms, tables, filtering, notifications, and error handling.
  • AI-Assisted Engineering Collaboration: Produce structured specifications for engineers and AI coding agents. Collaborate on technical feasibility, implementation, and functional parity validation.
  • UX Research: Conduct stakeholder interviews, usability reviews, and customer research to identify pain points and validate design decisions.
  • Prioritization and Delivery: Develop a UX modernization roadmap, prioritize high-impact improvements, and deliver implementation-ready designs through safe, incremental releases.

Required Qualifications

  • B2B SaaS Experience: Strong background designing complex ERP, CRM, field-service, or operational platforms with data-heavy workflows.
  • Legacy Modernization: Proven experience simplifying established applications while preserving critical business rules, functionality, and user familiarity.
  • AI-Native Proficiency: Extensive hands-on use of AI throughout discovery, workflow analysis, research, prototyping, and documentation—not just UI generation.
  • AI Tools & Validation: Practical experience with Claude, ChatGPT, Figma AI, Cursor, or similar tools. Ability to structure AI workflows, validate outputs, and identify inaccuracies and missing requirements.
  • UX/UI Expertise: Advanced Figma skills, including user flows, interactive prototypes, reusable components, design systems, and developer-ready specifications.
  • Technical Collaboration: Experience working with React/frontend engineers, understanding API/data constraints, and producing specifications suitable for AI-assisted development.
  • Research & Problem-Solving: Strong skills in user research, usability testing, complex workflow analysis, and identifying edge cases.
  • Autonomy & Communication: Ability to independently prioritize, document decisions, and deliver high-impact results within a 20-hour workweek.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with construction, flooring, remodeling, field-service, inventory, estimating, or invoicing software.
  • Experience migrating legacy , jQuery, or Kendo interfaces to React.
  • Familiarity with feature flags, incremental rollouts, and legacy functionality validation.
  • Experience with AI-assisted coding, design-to-code workflows, or agentic AI tools.
  • Understanding of accessibility and responsive design.

Initial Deliverables

During the first phase of the engagement, you will:

  1. Analyze existing workflows and identify critical usability issues and undocumented business rules.
  2. Establish an AI-assisted discovery and design workflow that accelerates analysis, prototyping, and documentation.
  3. Develop a prioritized UX modernization roadmap aligned with engineering migration plans.
  4. Define reusable design patterns and component standards for the React application.
  5. Take one or two high-impact workflows from discovery through validated, implementation-ready designs.
  6. Establish structured documentation and handoff practices that support engineers and AI coding agents.

What Success Looks Like

  • AI is consistently used to accelerate high-quality product design work.
  • Complex workflows become simpler without losing critical business functionality.
  • Engineers receive clear, complete specifications covering interactions, validations, permissions, and edge cases.
  • Designs can be implemented reliably by engineers using AI-assisted development tools.
  • Reusable patterns improve consistency and accelerate modernization.
  • UX improvements produce measurable customer or operational benefits.
  • Meaningful progress is delivered independently within approximately 20 hours per week.

Who We're Looking For

A senior product designer who combines complex B2B SaaS experience, strong UX judgment, technical understanding, and genuinely AI-native working practices.

You should be able to demonstrate how you've used AI to solve real design problems, accelerate delivery, validate complex workflows, and collaborate with engineering teams.

We are not looking for someone who simply uses AI to generate attractive screens. We need someone who uses AI to understand complex products, make better design decisions, and deliver accurate, buildable solutions faster.

Prepare your application

Use the description above to assess your fit for Looi Consulting. This checklist is guidance from Resumize, rather than additional requirements from the employer. Imported listings can be shortened or change after collection, so confirm the complete description and current availability before sending an application.

Match requirements to evidence

Identify the responsibilities and skills the employer explicitly names. For each important requirement, choose one example from your work, education, training, or projects. Explain what you did, how you did it, and what changed as a result. Include a measurable outcome when you can support it. If you lack a requirement, describe related experience accurately instead of adding an unfamiliar skill to your resume.

Put the most relevant examples near the top of your resume. Keep job titles, dates, qualifications, and contact details consistent across your application materials. Use the employer’s terminology when it describes your experience accurately; a copied list of keywords does not explain your contribution. A short, specific bullet is easier to review than a paragraph that mixes several unrelated duties.

Check the working arrangement

Confirm the location, schedule, employment type, and any eligibility requirements on the employer’s site. A remote label does not establish worldwide eligibility or flexible hours. If compensation, benefits, equipment, travel, or contract duration are missing from this listing, write down your questions for the recruiter. Do not assume details from another opening at the same company apply to this role.

Review before submitting

Follow the employer’s requested file format and application instructions. Open your exported resume and check that its text is selectable, its sections read in order, and its links work. Proofread names, dates, and contact information. Share confidential work samples only when you have permission, and use an anonymized example when necessary.

Submit through a trusted employer or recruiting destination. If the original listing has disappeared, search the employer’s careers page for the title rather than assuming the vacancy remains open. Save the application date, job reference, and the version of your resume you sent. Those details help you prepare for a later conversation and avoid submitting conflicting information through several job boards.

Review your resume for writing and readability feedback, or browse other openings if this opportunity is unavailable.
