Remote, Ontario | Reports to: Director of Marketing
Build the Retention Engine for Two High-Growth Better-for-You CPG Brands
Build best-in-class lifecycle marketing across two distinct brands, audiences, and growth stages, working with a team that gets the strategic value of what you do.
Protein Candy is redefining the $40B candy category with functional, better-for-you products. Since launching in mid-2024, we've grown into 4,000+ retail doors, including Kroger, Walmart Canada, and Circle K, with thousands more coming online by the end of the year.
Pulp & Press is a legacy cold-pressed juice brand being reinvented. You'll build its DTC foundation while breathing new life into a trusted name.
The Role
We're looking for a hands-on lifecycle marketing strategist and operator who thrives at the intersection of strategy, systems, data, and creative execution.
You'll own the complete lifecycle marketing engine across email, SMS, loyalty, and subscription for both brands, from strategy and campaign execution to tech stack management and performance analytics.
You'll write copy, build flows, manage integrations, run experiments, and deliver insights that drive repeat rate, LTV, and retention.
This isn't a role where you just set strategy and hand off execution. You're the one building the automations, analyzing the data, troubleshooting Shopify apps, and optimizing the welcome series because you're obsessed with the results.
You'll partner directly with leadership across both brands to shape lifecycle marketing, inform acquisition strategy, and build systems that scale.
What You'll Own
1. Lifecycle Strategy & Execution
Own end-to-end lifecycle across email, SMS, loyalty, and subscription.
Execute campaigns (copy, segmentation, deployment).
Build automated flows (welcome, win-back, VIP, abandonment, subscription).
Drive repeat rate, LTV, and retention targets.
2. DTC Tech Stack & Systems
Manage Shopify front-end and back-end, apps, subscription platform, loyalty tech, and integrations.
Troubleshoot issues.
Optimize site for conversion.
Evaluate and implement new tools.
Own day-to-day platform management.
3. Data & Performance Insights
Own lifecycle analytics.
Ensure data accuracy across Klaviyo, Shopify, GA4, TripleWhale.
Report on LTV, retention cohorts, flow performance, campaign ROI.
Build dashboards and turn data into actionable insights.
4. Experimentation & Optimization
Design and execute A/B tests across flows, campaigns, creative, offers, timing. Document learnings. Build testing roadmap that compounds results.
5. Automation & Brand Ops
Build internal automations (Zapier, workflows) to eliminate manual work.
Support campaign setup, QA, and troubleshooting. Create SOPs. Be the fix-it person.
You're the Right Fit If You:
- Have 5+ years in lifecycle/retention marketing (DTC or CPG preferred)
- Have completed a post-secondary program in a relevant field (e.g., marketing, advertising, web development, computer science) or equivalent work experience
- Are an expert in Klaviyo, Shopify, subscription/loyalty platforms
- Enjoy writing on-brand copy, build flows, analyze data, and manage integrations
- Are comfortable with Shopify backend, Zapier, APIs, webhooks, GA4
- Look for opportunities to use automations (i.e. Zapier and workflows) and AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude) to work smarter
- Obsess over metrics: open rates, LTV:CAC, retention curves, cohort performance
- Ship fast, test, learn, improve—don't wait for perfect
- Build systems and document processes
- Ability to self-manage project tasks and proactively question any issues, concerns, methods, etc. This includes the quality, quantity, resource management, and timeliness of all work.
- Ability to convey ideas, thoughts, issues, and information to other team members effectively.
- Ability to work cohesively with others and build productive relationships to accomplish common goals and objectives.
Nice to Haves
Multi-brand experience • Health/wellness/CPG background • SMS compliance expertise • Subscription business model experience • Design skills (Figma, Canva) • Basic HTML/CSS
Success in Year One
- Lifecycle strategy and core flows live for both brands
- Tech stack stable, Shopify optimized, automations built
- Clear LTV/retention visibility informing strategic decisions
- Strong cross-functional partnership with leadership across both brands
Our Values
- Discipline – Show up ready to perform, even when it's hard. Accountable, punctual, prepared, dependable—no excuses.
- Results Oriented – Impact over activity and ego. Every hour and dollar should create measurable value.
- Innovation – Everyone innovates with curiosity—in every role. We look for smarter, faster, better ways to win.
- Value Others – We genuinely respect our team, our customers, and our community. We participate, contribute, and support each other. We have fun.
- Excellence – We hold ourselves to a higher standard—in quality, adaptability, effort, and attitude. Being "all-in" is the minimum.

Prepare your application
Use the description above to assess your fit for Pulp & Press Canada Inc.. This checklist is guidance from Resumize, rather than additional requirements from the employer. Imported listings can be shortened or change after collection, so confirm the complete description and current availability before sending an application.
Match requirements to evidence
Identify the responsibilities and skills the employer explicitly names. For each important requirement, choose one example from your work, education, training, or projects. Explain what you did, how you did it, and what changed as a result. Include a measurable outcome when you can support it. If you lack a requirement, describe related experience accurately instead of adding an unfamiliar skill to your resume.
Put the most relevant examples near the top of your resume. Keep job titles, dates, qualifications, and contact details consistent across your application materials. Use the employer’s terminology when it describes your experience accurately; a copied list of keywords does not explain your contribution. A short, specific bullet is easier to review than a paragraph that mixes several unrelated duties.
Check the working arrangement
Confirm the location, schedule, employment type, and any eligibility requirements on the employer’s site. A remote label does not establish worldwide eligibility or flexible hours. If compensation, benefits, equipment, travel, or contract duration are missing from this listing, write down your questions for the recruiter. Do not assume details from another opening at the same company apply to this role.
Review before submitting
Follow the employer’s requested file format and application instructions. Open your exported resume and check that its text is selectable, its sections read in order, and its links work. Proofread names, dates, and contact information. Share confidential work samples only when you have permission, and use an anonymized example when necessary.
Submit through a trusted employer or recruiting destination. If the original listing has disappeared, search the employer’s careers page for the title rather than assuming the vacancy remains open. Save the application date, job reference, and the version of your resume you sent. Those details help you prepare for a later conversation and avoid submitting conflicting information through several job boards.
Review your resume for writing and readability feedback, or browse other openings if this opportunity is unavailable.
