The Schwab Technology Services (STS) Portfolio & Project Management (PPM) organization partners with Business and Technology Leaders to prioritize and execute technology work for strategic business‑sponsored initiatives, enhancements, and standard technology operations.
Within this organization, this role supports the Client Trader / Digital Assets portfolio, including strategic initiatives across spot crypto, tokenization, digital assets, and related market infrastructure modernization.
As a Sr IT Project Manager- Digital Assets, you will be responsible for establishing and leading enterprise‑wide, cross‑functional strategic initiatives within the Digital Assets portfolio. Leading a variety of project types in the digital asset space, including the delivery of technology solutions, large‑scale application development, systems integration, operational efficiency improvements, process reengineering, and infrastructure upgrades and deployments that strengthen fraud prevention and response capabilities.
As Schwab transitions to a scaled agile model, this role requires a blend of traditional project management expertise and scaled agile methodology experience, partnering closely with business, technology, and risk stakeholders to deliver outcomes that reduce fraud risk and enhance client trust.
Position Responsibilities:
Accountable for defining, planning, orchestrating, and delivering a given strategic initiative including business, operational, and information technology deliverablesEnsures end results are of the highest caliber with a clearly articulated scope and quantifiable business benefit Directs large-scale, complex projects often involving multiple internal and external constituents and partnersDirectly manages all aspects of the project life cycle and oversees all phases of a projectRigorously manages scope to ensure commitments are achieved within agreed upon time, cost, and quality parametersValidates financial forecasts, cost assumptions, and provides on-going reconciliation of resources and other related project expenditures Works with resource managers to ensure that resource capacity planning is accurately forecast, and provides ongoing reconciliation of actual time spent against forecastsDefines and tracks project milestones while developing, maintaining, and reporting on an overall integrated delivery plan Handles risks and issues management for the project-level risks and interdependencies Partners with Product Owners and Scrum Masters to track Agile development milestones and support Agile practices as neededManages team relationships to ensure effective delivery Facilitates problem-solving and resolves stakeholder conflictTeaches, coaches, and mentors team members to remove roadblocks and drive project execution

Required Qualifications:
8+ years of project management experience, managing multiple large, complex and cross functional projects, with emphasis on product development, systems, and technical environments 8+ years of experience with project management tools and artifacts, including MS Project, Jira, Confluence, SharePoint, project budgets, change requests, status reports, etc.Experience with digital asset products highly desired, such as tokenization, stablecoin, custody, etc.Experience using AI tools to optimize your project management capability. Demonstrated ability to mobilize and motivate teams, set direction and approach, resolve conflict, deliver tough messages with graceProven experience with and understanding of various software development methodologies, including Agile/ScrumProven ability to quickly build relationships and earn the trust of sponsors and key stakeholdersDemonstrated, applied experience establishing and delivering complex projects BA/BS Degree or equivalent experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Financial industry experience, preferably with digital assets (e.g. tokenization, crypto, custody, etc) Experience in a scaled agile environmentPMP or PMI-ACP certification
