Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Power Electronics Validation & Verification (V&V) Engineer / Lead to manage end-to-end testing, hardware debugging, and qualification across high-voltage automotive and power systems. You will lead EVT, DVT, and PVT execution for DC-DC converters, AC-DC chargers/inverters, and high-power units, ensuring product safety, performance, and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities :
Validation Lifecycle Management: Plan and execute EVT (Engineering Validation Testing), DVT (Design Validation Testing), and PVT (Production Validation Testing) for high-power DC-DC converters, AC-DC rectifiers, On-Board Chargers (OBC), and inverters.
High-Power & High-Voltage Testing: Conduct full load-curve efficiency mapping, thermal evaluations, transient load response, and protection verification (over-voltage, short-circuit, over-current).
Hardware Debugging & Root Cause Analysis: Perform hands‑on board bring-up, double-pulse testing for gate drivers/switching dynamics (SiC, GaN, Si MOSFETs, IGBTs), and root cause analysis using 8D and FMEA methods.
EMI/EMC & Compliance Testing: Lead conducted emissions (CE), radiated emissions (RE), conducted immunity (CI), and radiated immunity (RI) testing as per CISPR 25, ISO 11452, IEC 61000, and UNECE R10.
Instrumentation & High-Voltage Safety: Operate high‑bandwidth oscilloscopes, differential probes, Rogowski coils, and precision power analyzers. Maintain strict compliance with NFPA 70E / ISO 6469 high-voltage safety standards and verify HVIL (High-Voltage Interlock Loop) circuits.
Test Automation & Scripting: Develop automated test frameworks using Python (PyVISA/SCPI), LabVIEW, or MATLAB/Simulink to streamline data collection, log parsing, and report generation.
Bus Communication & Logging: Utilize CAN / CAN FD, UART, and Automotive Ethernet via tools like Vector CANoe, CANalyzer, or Peak CAN to perform signal decoding and bus validation.
Documentation: Generate formal Test Specifications, Test Vector Sheets, and Traceability Matrices (ASPICE / ISO 26262 compliant context).
Required Skills & Qualifications :
Education: B.E. / B.Tech / M.E. / M.Tech in Electrical & Electronics Engineering (EEE) or Power Electronics.
Core Fundamentals: Deep understanding of power converter topologies (Buck, Boost, LLC Resonant, Dual Active Bridge, Interleaved PFC) and digital control loops.
Testing & Tools: Hands‑on experience with programmable bidirectional DC power supplies, AC grid simulators, electronic loads, and thermal cameras.
High-Voltage Safety: Active experience with insulation resistance testing, HiPot (AC/DC breakdown), and partial discharge analysis.
Protocols: Practical knowledge of CAN, CAN FD, UART, Ethernet, and SPI.
