Job description

Summary

Guidewire’s Professional Services InsuranceSuite Practice partners with P&C insurers across the Americas to implement our cloud, digital, and core applications so they can modernize, scale, and serve their customers with confidence.

As a Senior Architect in the InsuranceSuite Practice based in Brazil, you will act as a lead technical authority on complex InsuranceSuite implementations, combining deep product expertise with hands-on design and technical leadership across architecture, integration, performance, and cloud delivery. You’ll work closely with customers, partners, and internal teams across LATAM to define implementation patterns, reduce delivery risk and effort, and drive measurable business value from Guidewire’s platform.

Job Description

What you’ll do

  • Lead end-to-end solution and technical architecture for complex Guidewire InsuranceSuite programs (PolicyCenter, BillingCenter, ClaimCenter) in LATAM, from inception through go-live and stabilization.
  • Translate customer business requirements into scalable, maintainable implementation designs spanning configuration, integration, data, and cloud operations.
  • Own critical design decisions (data model, integration patterns, performance and resiliency approaches, extensibility) and ensure alignment with Guidewire best practices and reference architectures.
  • Guide and review detailed technical designs, configuration approaches, and integration specifications produced by project teams and partners, ensuring consistency and quality.
  • Provide hands-on technical leadership: troubleshoot complex issues across application, integration, and data layers; perform design and code reviews; mentor architects and consultants.
  • Define and champion reusable patterns, accelerators, and implementation best practices that reduce effort and improve quality across InsuranceSuite implementations in the region.
  • Collaborate with Product, R&D, and Cloud teams to provide field feedback, influence roadmap, and align customer solutions with Guidewire Cloud Platform capabilities.
  • Proactively manage technical risks and non-functional requirements (performance, scalability, resilience, security) throughout the delivery lifecycle.
  • Contribute to estimation, scoping, and planning for proposals and delivery engagements, including effort, risk, and dependency assessment.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to customer and partner technical leaders, facilitating architecture workshops and clearly documenting decisions and rationale.

What you’ll bring

Required

  • Demonstrated ability to embrace AI and data-driven insights to improve how you design, build, and troubleshoot complex systems.
  • 12+ years of experience in enterprise software implementation or architecture, including several large-scale transformation or core system projects.
  • 4+ years of hands-on Guidewire InsuranceSuite implementation experience (PolicyCenter, BillingCenter, ClaimCenter), including configuration and integration.
  • Strong expertise in at least one of: Gosu, Java, or similar object-oriented languages, plus solid understanding of REST/SOAP integrations, messaging, and batch processing.
  • Proven experience designing end-to-end architectures covering configuration, integrations, data migration considerations, and non-functional requirements.
  • Experience working with cloud platforms (ideally Guidewire Cloud Platform, AWS or Azure), including environments, deployments, and operational concerns.
  • Strong understanding of P&C insurance concepts (policy, billing, claims) and how they map into InsuranceSuite.
  • Excellent communication and consulting skills: able to lead technical workshops, explain trade-offs to non-technical stakeholders, and document decisions clearly.
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum or hybrid delivery environments on distributed teams.
  • Advanced English communication skills (written and spoken); ability to collaborate effectively with global stakeholders.
  • Based in Brazil with the ability to work remotely and align to LATAM customer time zones; occasional travel for customer or internal workshops as needed.
  • Spanish and/or Portuguese language skills in addition to English.

Preferred

  • 4+ years of hands-on Guidewire InsuranceSuite implementation experience (PolicyCenter, BillingCenter, ClaimCenter), including configuration and integration.
  • Prior experience in a Senior/Lead Architect role on multi-year, multi-vendor core system or large program implementations.
  • Guidewire certifications (InsuranceSuite, Integration, Cloud) and/or cloud certifications (AWS, Azure).
  • Experience with performance tuning and scalability for InsuranceSuite (profiling, query optimization, batch performance, environment sizing).
  • Experience defining and/or building reusable accelerators, frameworks, or tools for Guidewire implementations.
  • Experience coaching and mentoring architects/consultants and providing feedback on design quality and implementation approaches.
  • Exposure to AI-assisted development, knowledge tools, or automation to accelerate design, analysis, or troubleshooting.

Your impact

In your first 6–12 months, you will lead architecture for one or more strategic InsuranceSuite programs in LATAM, de-risking critical design decisions, improving solution quality, and accelerating time-to-value. Over time, your patterns, assets, and mentorship will uplift the broader InsuranceSuite Practice and partner ecosystem, directly supporting Professional Services’ goals of reducing implementation effort, scaling cloud adoption, and delivering measurable value for our customers.

Prepare your application

Use the description above to assess your fit for Guidewire Software. This checklist is guidance from Resumize, rather than additional requirements from the employer. Imported listings can be shortened or change after collection, so confirm the complete description and current availability before sending an application.

Match requirements to evidence

Identify the responsibilities and skills the employer explicitly names. For each important requirement, choose one example from your work, education, training, or projects. Explain what you did, how you did it, and what changed as a result. Include a measurable outcome when you can support it. If you lack a requirement, describe related experience accurately instead of adding an unfamiliar skill to your resume.

Put the most relevant examples near the top of your resume. Keep job titles, dates, qualifications, and contact details consistent across your application materials. Use the employer’s terminology when it describes your experience accurately; a copied list of keywords does not explain your contribution. A short, specific bullet is easier to review than a paragraph that mixes several unrelated duties.

Check the working arrangement

Confirm the location, schedule, employment type, and any eligibility requirements on the employer’s site. A remote label does not establish worldwide eligibility or flexible hours. If compensation, benefits, equipment, travel, or contract duration are missing from this listing, write down your questions for the recruiter. Do not assume details from another opening at the same company apply to this role.

Review before submitting

Follow the employer’s requested file format and application instructions. Open your exported resume and check that its text is selectable, its sections read in order, and its links work. Proofread names, dates, and contact information. Share confidential work samples only when you have permission, and use an anonymized example when necessary.

Submit through a trusted employer or recruiting destination. If the original listing has disappeared, search the employer’s careers page for the title rather than assuming the vacancy remains open. Save the application date, job reference, and the version of your resume you sent. Those details help you prepare for a later conversation and avoid submitting conflicting information through several job boards.

Review your resume for writing and readability feedback, or browse other openings if this opportunity is unavailable.
