Senior AI ML Engineer

About Role: Synavos is looking for a Senior AI/ML Engineer responsible for designing, developing and deploying advanced machine learning, computer vision and AI solutions that power Synavos' product and client initiatives. Day-to-day responsibilities include researching and prototyping models, building scalable ML and CV pipelines and integrating intelligent systems into web, mobile, and cloud-based applications. This role requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into working AI solutions, while owning architecture decisions, code quality and delivery timelines end-to-end. Key Responsibilities: Lead the development of computer vision models and video analytics pipelines for the EPIC platform. Build and improve solutions for object detection, image classification, OCR, people counting, face/person detection, activity detection, and SOP compliance monitoring. Work with video streams, CCTV feeds, recorded videos, and image datasets. Train, fine-tune, evaluate, and optimize models using frameworks such as YOLO, OpenCV, PyTorch, TensorFlow, or similar tools. Design practical AI workflows for real-time or near-real-time detection, alerting, and reporting. Prepare, clean, annotate, and manage image/video datasets for model training and testing. Integrate AI models with backend APIs, databases, dashboards, and notification systems. Work with deployment environments including Linux servers, GPUs, Docker, and cloud/on-prem infrastructure. Optimize models for performance, latency, accuracy, and resource usage. Define model evaluation metrics and continuously improve detection accuracy. Collaborate with product, project, and client-facing teams to understand SOP monitoring requirements. Document technical architecture, model behavior, deployment steps, and limitations. Take ownership of assigned AI/CV modules from prototype to production deployment. Job Requirements: Hands-on experience with AI/ML frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, Hugging Face, LangChain, LlamaIndex or CrewAI Strong proficiency in Python (preferred), with working knowledge of a modern backend/frontend stack (Node.js, FastAPI, React/Next.js, etc.) Experience with NVIDIA GPUs, CUDA, TensorRT, ONNX, or model optimization. Strong, demonstrable experience in Computer Vision object detection, image classification, OCR, video analytics (OpenCV, YOLO and similar libraries/frameworks) Experience building and deploying AI Agents autonomous workflows, memory, tool-calling, multi-step reasoning Hands-on experience with RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) pipelines embeddings, chunking, retrieval optimization Experience with Generative AI prompt engineering, LLM APIs and fine-tuning fundamentals Knowledge of NLP tasks: intent detection, entity extraction, embeddings and vector search Strong understanding of APIs, webhooks and microservices integration (CRMs, messaging apps, databases) Experience with ETL and data processing cleaning and structuring both unstructured and structured data Solid knowledge of databases: SQL, NoSQL, and Vector Databases (Pinecone, ChromaDB or FAISS) Familiarity with Docker and containerized AI deployments. Comfortable with Git-based version control and basic CI/CD practices Bachelor's / Master's degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
