Job description
Location: Remote/WFH
Arrangement: Full time
ABOUT THE COMPANY:
The company is a 4-star apartment hotel located in the heart of Darwin's CBD, providing contemporary accommodation for both corporate and leisure travellers.
The property offers studio rooms and spacious one- and two-bedroom apartments catering to short stays, extended stays and business travellers, alongside conference and meeting facilities, dining, a fitness centre and swimming pool.
A significant part of the hotel's market is corporate accommodation, including regular business travelers, consultants, relocation teams and project-based workers requiring short and extended stays.
ROLE OVERVIEW:
The client is looking for an experienced Reservations & Corporate Sales Coordinator to support both the reservations function and the proactive development of accommodation business.
This is not purely a reservations administration position.
The successful candidate will be confident handling incoming guest and booking enquiries while also proactively contacting prospective and existing corporate customers, following up opportunities and helping convert enquiries into confirmed accommodation bookings.
The role would suit someone with previous hotel reservations experience who also has a strong commercial mindset and is comfortable picking up the phone, building relationships and following up business.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reservations & Guest Enquiries
- Handle inbound reservation enquiries via phone and email.
- Assist guests with questions regarding room and apartment options, availability, rates and general hotel information.
- Accurately enter, amend and maintain reservations within the hotel's property management system.
- Assist with enquiries relating to short stays, long-term accommodation and corporate bookings.
- Follow up booking enquiries to maximise conversion.
- Maintain accurate guest, booking and reservation information.
- Provide professional and responsive communication throughout the booking process.
Corporate Sales & Business Development Support
- Make proactive outbound calls to prospective corporate customers from provided contact lists.
- Follow up companies, business travellers and other potential accommodation partners by phone and email.
- Promote H on Mitchell's corporate and long-stay accommodation options to suitable businesses.
- Follow up corporate accommodation enquiries and assist in converting opportunities into bookings.
- Re-engage previous or existing contacts where appropriate.
- Maintain accurate records of sales conversations, opportunities and follow-up activity.
- Ensure prospective customers are followed up consistently rather than allowing opportunities to go cold.
- Support management with general sales administration and reporting.
Customer Relationship Management
Build professional relationships with corporate contacts, repeat guests and accommodation partners.
Understand customer accommodation requirements and identify the most appropriate room, apartment or long-stay option.
Provide clear and timely written follow-up after phone conversations.
Deliver a professional guest experience that reflects H on Mitchell's service standards.
Requirements
About You
We are looking for someone who brings both hotel reservations experience and commercial confidence.
You will ideally have:
- Previous hands-on experience in hotel reservations, front office, accommodation sales or a similar hotel environment.
- Experience entering and managing reservations through a hotel Property Management System (PMS).
- Confidence handling reservation enquiries and guest questions over the phone.
- Demonstrated experience with outbound calls, sales follow-up, account management or proactive customer engagement.
- Strong spoken and written English.
- The confidence to speak professionally with corporate customers and business decision-makers.
- Strong attention to detail when managing rates, dates, guest information and booking requirements.
- A proactive approach to following up enquiries and opportunities.
- The ability to work independently in a remote environment while remaining accountable to the on-site management team.
Highly Regarded
- Previous experience within an Australian hotel, serviced apartment or accommodation business.
- Experience dealing with corporate accommodation accounts or long-stay bookings.
- Experience working with corporate travel agents, business travelers or project accommodation.
- Previous exposure to hotel sales, business development or account management.
- Relevant New Zealand or other Commonwealth-market hotel experience where Australian experience is unavailable.
Systems
The client is currently evaluating RMS as its property management/reservations platform.
CRM and sales follow-up processes are still to be confirmed, so the successful candidate should be comfortable adapting to new systems and helping maintain a structured sales follow-up process.
Benefits
What Success Looks Like
The right person will be more than someone who simply processes bookings.
They will be able to confidently manage incoming reservations while proactively creating and following up commercial opportunities.
Success in the role will mean:
- Reservations are handled accurately and professionally.
- Guest and corporate enquiries receive timely follow-up.
- Prospective corporate customers are proactively contacted.
- Sales conversations are consistently followed through.
- Corporate and long-stay opportunities are identified and progressed.
- Management has clear visibility over outstanding enquiries and sales opportunities.

Prepare your application
Use the description above to assess your fit for D2B. This checklist is guidance from Resumize, rather than additional requirements from the employer. Imported listings can be shortened or change after collection, so confirm the complete description and current availability before sending an application.
Match requirements to evidence
Identify the responsibilities and skills the employer explicitly names. For each important requirement, choose one example from your work, education, training, or projects. Explain what you did, how you did it, and what changed as a result. Include a measurable outcome when you can support it. If you lack a requirement, describe related experience accurately instead of adding an unfamiliar skill to your resume.
Put the most relevant examples near the top of your resume. Keep job titles, dates, qualifications, and contact details consistent across your application materials. Use the employer’s terminology when it describes your experience accurately; a copied list of keywords does not explain your contribution. A short, specific bullet is easier to review than a paragraph that mixes several unrelated duties.
Check the working arrangement
Confirm the location, schedule, employment type, and any eligibility requirements on the employer’s site. A remote label does not establish worldwide eligibility or flexible hours. If compensation, benefits, equipment, travel, or contract duration are missing from this listing, write down your questions for the recruiter. Do not assume details from another opening at the same company apply to this role.
Review before submitting
Follow the employer’s requested file format and application instructions. Open your exported resume and check that its text is selectable, its sections read in order, and its links work. Proofread names, dates, and contact information. Share confidential work samples only when you have permission, and use an anonymized example when necessary.
Submit through a trusted employer or recruiting destination. If the original listing has disappeared, search the employer’s careers page for the title rather than assuming the vacancy remains open. Save the application date, job reference, and the version of your resume you sent. Those details help you prepare for a later conversation and avoid submitting conflicting information through several job boards.
Review your resume for writing and readability feedback, or browse other openings if this opportunity is unavailable.
