Job Description

A major German logistics provider is expanding its operations and we are supporting their move toward a more reliable, centralized reporting structure. Many large organizations find themselves in a position where their data is scattered across legacy systems, making it difficult to get a clear picture of performance. We are stepping in to help them establish a single source of truth. As a Reporting Analyst Assistant, you will be a vital part of the team ensuring this transition is handled with precision and care.

About Alpine Business Consulting
Alpine Business Consulting is a specialized team of professionals who fix enterprise performance management and reporting systems. Too often, companies invest heavily in complex software but skimp on the configuration and documentation, leading to numbers that do not match and finance teams that are frustrated. We do things differently. We focus on transparency, fixed price engagements, and creating documentation that is actually helpful. Our consultants have years of real world experience and we prioritize handing over systems that our clients can manage independently.
We work in a fully remote model, which means you can contribute to high level projects from wherever you are located. We do not believe in the noise of a traditional office. Instead, we focus on the quality of our work and the clarity of our communication. When we finish a project, our goal is for the client to have a system they can trust every morning without needing constant outside support.

The role
This is a permanent, full time position designed for someone starting their career in data and reporting. You will not be expected to lead client engagements on your own, but you will be expected to support our senior consultants in the rigorous work required to fix a broken implementation. This role involves significant attention to detail as you help us validate data, clean up old report structures, and document the new configurations for the logistics provider expansion.
You will learn the mechanics of how enterprise systems like Oracle or SAP integrate with daily operations. You will be working directly under the guidance of senior experts who value technical accuracy over corporate jargon. This is a practical, hands on role where your contributions directly influence the success of a major logistics tracking project.

What you will do
  • Review and clean large data sets from the logistics provider legacy systems to ensure they are ready for the new reporting environment.
  • Assist senior consultants in building and testing new report layouts to ensure they meet the specific needs of the operations team.
  • Perform detailed validation checks to confirm that the numbers in the new system align perfectly with the source data.
  • Draft clear, step by step user guides and technical documentation so the client knows exactly how their new system works.
  • Maintain project logs and track open items to ensure we stay on schedule with our fixed price commitments.
  • Update existing spreadsheets and dashboards with fresh data during the transition period.
  • Identify inconsistencies in data formatting and propose simple, logical ways to standardize them.
  • Support the team during technical reviews by taking notes and documenting specific configuration steps.
  • Help organize and catalog the project library so all documentation is easily accessible for the final handover.

What you bring
  • Basic familiarity with how data is organized and used for business reporting.
  • Comfortable working with Microsoft Excel, including the use of basic formulas, sorting, and data cleanup tools.
  • An organized mind that naturally seeks out errors or inconsistencies in lists of numbers.
  • Plain and direct writing skills, capable of explaining a technical step in simple English.
  • The ability to manage your own schedule and stay focused in a fully remote work environment.
  • A preference for following a structured process rather than improvising with client data.
  • A willingness to learn from negative results: if a report does not balance, you are determined to find out why.
  • Some experience with common data tools or a quick ability to learn new software interfaces is helpful.
  • A professional attitude that values accuracy and reliable documentation over speed for its own sake.

What the role offers
This position is paid and we offer a salary that is attractive and competitive for an entry level professional in this field. You will gain exposure to complex enterprise systems and see firsthand how a major global logistics firm manages its reporting at scale. You will work alongside senior professionals who are dedicated to doing things the right way, avoiding the shortcuts that cause most system failures. We provide a stable, remote working environment where the focus is on professional growth and technical excellence. By working with us, you will learn the fundamentals of clean data and the importance of a single source of truth in modern business.
