Job description
Flexigrant is one of the specialist software businesses within a portfolio of Fluent Software Group, which is an operating group under Valsoft Corporation, an acquirer of specialist vertical-market software businesses with a long-term, buy-and-hold approach.
Being part of the wider group provides additional stability, expertise and opportunities to collaborate with other specialist software businesses, while allowing Flexigrant to retain its own culture and market focus/ specialist market position.
You will be joining a focused business with its own identity, goals and ambitions, while benefiting from the long-term backing, shared expertise and international network of Fluent Software Group and Valsoft.
Flexigrant is cloud-based grant management software built for organisations that award funding, from community foundations to central government. It replaces spreadsheets and email with a single system covering applications, eligibility, assessment, awards, monitoring, and reporting, with a full audit trail throughout.
The platform replaces disconnected spreadsheets, emails and paper-based processes with one secure, configurable system, giving grant managers a complete and up-to-date view of every programme, application and award. Flexigrant also creates a clear audit trail of actions and decisions, helping organisations maintain transparency and meet their governance and reporting responsibilities.
Trusted by more than 100 organisations worldwide, the platform supports grant programmes of varying sizes and complexity. In the last 12 months alone, more than £6.4 billion in new grant funding was awarded through Flexigrant, demonstrating the important role its technology plays in helping funding reach research, communities and worthwhile causes efficiently.
The Role
As QA Analyst, you will own the quality of what we ship. You will plan and run testing across Flexigrant, from exploratory, functional and regression testing through to building automated tests, working closely with our developers and Product Manager to catch issues early.
This is a hands-on role for a fast learner who enjoys getting to know a complex product in depth. Much of that product knowledge is built on the job, alongside the development team, so a real appetite to learn is essential.
It is also an AI-native role. You will use AI tools such as Claude or GitHub Copilot every day to plan, create and maintain tests, grow our automation and help build quality in as Flexigrant modernises. AI fluency will be explored at interview, so be ready to show how you work.
We are remote-first: you will work with colleagues across locations and are trusted to work wherever you are based.
Key Responsibilities
- You will plan, design and run manual testing across Flexigrant, including exploratory, functional, regression and edge-case testing.
- You will build and maintain automated tests and help grow our automated test coverage.
- You will work with developers and the Product Manager to refine requirements and turn them into clear, testable acceptance criteria.
- You will reproduce and document issues clearly, giving developers concise, actionable feedback so they can resolve them quickly.
- You will carry out API testing and use SQL to validate data and investigate issues.
- You will support releases each sprint, balancing planned testing with reactive support, and take part in refinement, sprint planning, stand-ups and retrospectives.
- You will use AI tooling as a core part of your daily workflow to improve testing processes and speed up delivery.
- You will share product knowledge across the team and help improve our QA processes and practices.
Key Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
- 4+ years in a software QA or testing role, ideally within an Agile team.
- Strong manual testing skills (exploratory, functional, regression and edge-case), including web applications across devices and browsers.
- Experience with automated testing tools such as Selenium or Cypress.
- API testing experience (for example Postman) and working knowledge of SQL for data validation.
- The ability to turn requirements from meetings and conversations into test cases and testable acceptance criteria.
- Experience with version control and CI/CD pipelines.
- Daily use of AI tools such as Claude or GitHub Copilot, with the judgement to prompt, steer and critically review their output.
- Excellent attention to detail and time management, with the ability to prioritise several test items at once.
- A collaborative, patient communicator who builds trusted relationships with developers and product colleagues.
- Interest or experience in AI-assisted and agentic testing workflows (desirable).
- ISTQB Foundation (CTFL) or BCS Foundation Certificate in Software Testing, or a further ISTQB, test automation, API testing or Agile certification (desirable).
- Familiarity with accessibility testing and WCAG (desirable).
No degree or formal qualification is required. Demonstrable QA experience matters most.

Prepare your application
Use the description above to assess your fit for Valsoft Corporation. This checklist is guidance from Resumize, rather than additional requirements from the employer. Imported listings can be shortened or change after collection, so confirm the complete description and current availability before sending an application.
Match requirements to evidence
Identify the responsibilities and skills the employer explicitly names. For each important requirement, choose one example from your work, education, training, or projects. Explain what you did, how you did it, and what changed as a result. Include a measurable outcome when you can support it. If you lack a requirement, describe related experience accurately instead of adding an unfamiliar skill to your resume.
Put the most relevant examples near the top of your resume. Keep job titles, dates, qualifications, and contact details consistent across your application materials. Use the employer’s terminology when it describes your experience accurately; a copied list of keywords does not explain your contribution. A short, specific bullet is easier to review than a paragraph that mixes several unrelated duties.
Check the working arrangement
Confirm the location, schedule, employment type, and any eligibility requirements on the employer’s site. A remote label does not establish worldwide eligibility or flexible hours. If compensation, benefits, equipment, travel, or contract duration are missing from this listing, write down your questions for the recruiter. Do not assume details from another opening at the same company apply to this role.
Review before submitting
Follow the employer’s requested file format and application instructions. Open your exported resume and check that its text is selectable, its sections read in order, and its links work. Proofread names, dates, and contact information. Share confidential work samples only when you have permission, and use an anonymized example when necessary.
Submit through a trusted employer or recruiting destination. If the original listing has disappeared, search the employer’s careers page for the title rather than assuming the vacancy remains open. Save the application date, job reference, and the version of your resume you sent. Those details help you prepare for a later conversation and avoid submitting conflicting information through several job boards.
Review your resume for writing and readability feedback, or browse other openings if this opportunity is unavailable.
