Job description

ABOUT US

Eterio Realities Inc. is a software company in Victoria, British Columbia, building augmented reality tools for industrial manufacturing. Our story began in 2010, out of challenges encountered during the construction of the Sparkling Hill Resort in Vernon, B.C.

Today we’re a team of 30+ across Canada and India and growing! We have built FabStation, an AR-enabled manufacturing execution system used by 200+ fabrication shops in 30+ countries. FabStation replaces paper and 2D drawings on the shop floor with AR-guided assembly, dimensional inspection, and production tracking, and it integrates with the workflows shops already run. Our mission is to empower steel fabricators with innovative augmented reality technology, revolutionizing the way they work.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We are seeking a detail-oriented QA Analyst – AR & Web Applications (Manual Testing) to help ensure the delivery of high-quality software for an AR Unity project and an Angular-based web application. This role focuses on hands-on manual testing — test case design, exploratory testing, and defect reporting — across our AR Unity application and supporting web portal. You'll work closely with our Automation QA Engineers, complementing our automated coverage with manual validation, and you'll be expected to use AI tools to work faster and smarter throughout the testing process.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

Manual Test Planning & Execution

  • Design and execute manual test cases for AR Unity application and web-portal functionalities.
  • Perform exploratory, regression, functional, and compatibility testing across devices (smartphones, tablets, and AR headsets such as HoloLens, Magic Leap, etc.).
  • Validate new features and bug fixes prior to release.
  • Defect Management
  • Identify, document, and track defects with clear reproduction steps and severity/risk assessments.
  • Collaborate with developers to prioritize and resolve issues promptly.
  • Perform root cause analysis where applicable.

Test Documentation

  • Create and maintain test plans, test cases, and test scripts.
  • Document testing results and provide clear, actionable reporting to the team.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with product managers, developers, and the Automation QA Engineers to align on quality goals.
  • Participate in sprint planning, grooming, and retrospectives.
  • Provide input on edge cases and real-world usage scenarios based on manual testing insights.

Quality Advocacy

  • Promote QA best practices and quality standards across AR Unity and web-portal projects.
  • Support release validation and sign-off processes.

AI-Assisted Testing

  • Use AI tools (e.g., Claude) to draft and refine test cases, generate edge-case and negative-test scenarios, and speed up test coverage.
  • Apply AI assistance to summarize defects, tighten bug report clarity, and support root cause analysis.
  • Explore and recommend new AI-based QA tools and workflows to improve testing efficiency.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • 3+ years of experience in manual QA / software testing.
  • Strong understanding of software testing principles, methodologies, and best practices (functional, regression, exploratory, compatibility).
  • Experience testing across various devices, such as smartphones (OS, Android), tablets (UWP), and AR headsets (e.g., HoloLens, Magic Leap, etc.).
  • Ability to identify and clearly document bugs, glitches, and inconsistencies.
  • Experience developing and maintaining test plans, test cases, and quality standards.
  • Experience with Agile / Scrum Methodologies.
  • Ability to write and refine test cases with the help of Claude or other AI tools, and use sound judgment about when AI output needs a human double-check.
  • Familiarity with defect tracking and test management tools (e.g., Jira, TestRail).
  • Basic understanding of version control (Git, GitHub) is a plus.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

NICE TO HAVE:

  • Certification in QA or software testing (e.g., ISTQB, CSTE).
  • Experience testing AR/VR or Unity-based applications.
  • Familiarity with Azure cloud environments.
  • Basic scripting knowledge (a plus, not required) for future growth into automation.

WHAT WE OFFER:

  • Competitive salary: $70,000-80,000 CAD
  • Comprehensive benefits package – Medical, Dental, & Vision.
  • Paid sick/personal days annually.
  • $2,000 CAD tech stipend.
  • Fully remote work environment
  • Company-wide holiday week closure over Christmas

Thank you to all applicants. Only shortlisted applicants will be contacted, and everyone we interview will hear back from us on the outcome.

Prepare your application

Use the description above to assess your fit for FabStation. This checklist is guidance from Resumize, rather than additional requirements from the employer. Imported listings can be shortened or change after collection, so confirm the complete description and current availability before sending an application.

Match requirements to evidence

Identify the responsibilities and skills the employer explicitly names. For each important requirement, choose one example from your work, education, training, or projects. Explain what you did, how you did it, and what changed as a result. Include a measurable outcome when you can support it. If you lack a requirement, describe related experience accurately instead of adding an unfamiliar skill to your resume.

Put the most relevant examples near the top of your resume. Keep job titles, dates, qualifications, and contact details consistent across your application materials. Use the employer’s terminology when it describes your experience accurately; a copied list of keywords does not explain your contribution. A short, specific bullet is easier to review than a paragraph that mixes several unrelated duties.

Check the working arrangement

Confirm the location, schedule, employment type, and any eligibility requirements on the employer’s site. A remote label does not establish worldwide eligibility or flexible hours. If compensation, benefits, equipment, travel, or contract duration are missing from this listing, write down your questions for the recruiter. Do not assume details from another opening at the same company apply to this role.

Review before submitting

Follow the employer’s requested file format and application instructions. Open your exported resume and check that its text is selectable, its sections read in order, and its links work. Proofread names, dates, and contact information. Share confidential work samples only when you have permission, and use an anonymized example when necessary.

Submit through a trusted employer or recruiting destination. If the original listing has disappeared, search the employer’s careers page for the title rather than assuming the vacancy remains open. Save the application date, job reference, and the version of your resume you sent. Those details help you prepare for a later conversation and avoid submitting conflicting information through several job boards.

Review your resume for writing and readability feedback, or browse other openings if this opportunity is unavailable.
