Production Supervisor Press Shop
Experience-: 5 Years (Automotive / Manufacturing Industry Preferred)

We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Production Supervisor to oversee daily operations in the Press Shop. The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of sheet metal manufacturing, press operations, production planning, quality standards, safety practices, and team management. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring production targets are achieved while maintaining high standards of quality, productivity, and workplace safety.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise day-to-day operations of the Press Shop and ensure smooth production flow.
Plan, organize, and monitor production activities to achieve daily and monthly production targets.
Ensure optimum utilization of manpower, machines, materials, and production resources.
Monitor the performance of mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and power press machines.
Ensure adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and quality standards.
Coordinate with Production Planning, Tool Room, Maintenance, Quality, and Stores departments for uninterrupted production.
Monitor tool availability, die changeovers, and press setup to minimize downtime.
Analyze production losses and implement corrective and preventive actions to improve efficiency.
Ensure compliance with 5S, Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing, and Continuous Improvement initiatives.
Maintain production reports, shift reports, rejection reports, downtime records, and machine utilization data.
Monitor rejection, scrap, and rework levels and implement actions to reduce manufacturing defects.
Conduct root cause analysis for production and quality issues using problem-solving techniques.
Ensure preventive maintenance schedules are followed in coordination with the maintenance team.
Train, guide, and motivate operators and shop-floor associates to improve productivity and discipline.
Maintain safe working practices and ensure compliance with EHS guidelines and statutory requirements.
Support customer audits, internal audits, and ISO/IATF documentation requirements.
Required Skills
Strong knowledge of Press Shop operations and sheet metal manufacturing.
Experience with mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and power press machines.
Knowledge of progressive, compound, and blanking dies.
Understanding of production planning, capacity utilization, and line balancing.
Good understanding of GD&T, engineering drawings, and manufacturing processes.
Familiarity with quality tools such as 7 QC Tools, SPC, CAPA, and Root Cause Analysis.
Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, 5S, Poka-Yoke, and TPM.
Ability to manage manpower, production schedules, and shift operations.
Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Office, and ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or equivalent).
Educational Qualification
Diploma/B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, or a related discipline.
Preferred Experience
Minimum 5+ years of experience as a Production Supervisor in a Press Shop within the automotive, sheet metal, or engineering manufacturing industry.
Experience in high-volume production environments.
Exposure to ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 quality systems will be an added advantage.
