Job Description: Write and improve production Java codeMaintain existing Java servicesBuild occasional internal applications (Java backend / JavaScript frontend)Improve system reliability, scalability, and performanceImprove caching, observability, and platform healthTroubleshoot production issues and perform root cause analysis after incidentsPrevent future outages through engineering improvementsReview architecture and influence design decisionsPartner closely with software engineering teams and mentor other engineersRequirements: 8 years of Software Engineering / SRE experienceExpert-level Java experience in a production environmentExperience writing net-new Java code AND maintaining existing Java servicesDistributed systems experienceExperience with RabbitMQ, Kafka, or similar messaging technologiesMongoDB experience (building applications that interact with it)Experience supporting SaaS/cloud applications in productionStrong debugging and root cause analysis skillsExperience responding to production outagesPerformance tuning and reliability improvement experienceStrong software engineering fundamentalsExperience improving observability, monitoring, and system health
