Job description

ABOUT QUINCE

Quince is a destination for builders, creators, innovators, and operators who want to come together and challenge the status quo. Our mission is simple: make really high quality essentials for really low prices, fairly and sustainably. We deliver on that mission through a unique manufacturer-to-consumer (M2C) model eliminating the layers of traditional retail that add cost and result in consumers paying more than they need to. We find, build relationships with, and work directly with the manufacturing partners behind some of the world’s finest products. From there, our teams design smart, efficient operational processes and build and deploy proprietary technology, AI, and analytics to help us scale fast.

What began with a small assortment of elevated basics has quickly grown into a cross-category brand spanning apparel, accessories, home goods, and more. Today, tens of millions of people across a growing number of countries come – and return – to Quince because they trust us to deliver.

OUR CULTURE

Quince is a culture built for builders by builders. Our way of working starts with a blank sheet of paper. We question conventional thinking, use technology and data to uncover new opportunities, and move quickly to turn ideas into reality. We aren’t interested in replicating how others do retail. We’re building a better way – at a speed and scale unlike anything that’s been done before.

  • We dream big and chase the hard problems others shy away from. Rejecting long-held assumptions is part of our company's DNA. Where conventional wisdom says you have to choose – soft or durable, speed or rigor, quality or price – we ask why that trade-off has to exist in the first place.
  • Our pace is fast and the bar is high because our customers expect a lot from us and we refuse to let them down. We believe the best results come from challenging ourselves, learning from one another, and building on each other's strengths.
  • Here, responsibility is not determined by role, tenure, or seniority. Every team member - no matter their level - has the opportunity to drive our business and shape our trajectory.

If you’re someone who likes to imagine new possibilities and build better systems rather than plug-in to outdated ones, Quince is the place for you.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:

The Manager, Return to Vendor (RTV) is a key individual contributor within the Sourcing organization responsible for overseeing the end-to-end RTV process across the company's retail and e-commerce supply chain. This role serves as the primary point of contact for vendor return negotiations, disputes, and recovery, ensuring that defective, excess, and non-conforming merchandise is resolved efficiently and that the company maximizes recovery value. The ideal candidate is highly analytical, a skilled negotiator, and comfortable operating cross-functionally with Merchandising, Quality, Logistics, Finance, and Vendor partners.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

RTV Program Ownership

  • Own and manage the full RTV lifecycle — from claim initiation through resolution, credit receipt, or physical return logistics.
  • Establish and maintain a centralized RTV tracking system; monitor open claims, aging balances, and recovery rates.
  • Develop and enforce RTV policies, standard operating procedures, and escalation protocols.
  • Partner with Buying and Planning teams to identify and prioritize RTV candidates across categories.

Vendor Negotiation & Relationship Management

  • Lead direct negotiations with vendor partners to secure credits, replacements, or return authorizations in alignment with contractual terms.
  • Build and maintain productive vendor relationships while assertively advocating for the company's financial interests.
  • Review and interpret vendor contracts and purchase order terms related to returns, defects, and chargebacks.
  • Identify recurring quality or compliance issues with vendors and escalate to the Sourcing Director for strategic action.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Collaborate with the Logistics and Warehouse teams to coordinate physical return shipments, disposition of goods, and inbound/outbound documentation.
  • Partner with Finance and Accounts Payable to ensure timely posting of vendor credits and accurate reconciliation of RTV balances.
  • Work with the Quality Assurance team to document and report on product defect trends to inform future sourcing decisions.
  • Support Buying teams during vendor onboarding to ensure RTV terms and expectations are clearly defined.

Reporting & Continuous Improvement

  • Produce regular reporting on RTV volume, recovery rate, aging claims, and open liabilities for senior leadership review.
  • Identify process gaps and implement improvements to reduce cycle time, increase recovery, and minimize dispute resolution time.
  • Benchmark RTV performance against industry standards and recommend best practices.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • 5+ years of experience in sourcing, procurement, vendor management, or supply chain — with direct RTV, chargeback, or vendor compliance exposure.
  • Demonstrated experience negotiating with vendor partners, including knowledge of contract terms, credit processes, and dispute resolution.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to manage large volumes of data and derive actionable insights.
  • Proficiency in Google Sheets; experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or equivalent) and inventory/order management platforms.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence without authority across internal teams and external partners.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple open claims and priorities simultaneously.

All posted ranges are reflective of base salary and may vary depending upon experience level and location. Bonus and equity may also be provided for eligible roles.

Pay Range
$124,000—$138,000 USD

Prepare your application

Use the description above to assess your fit for Quince. This checklist is guidance from Resumize, rather than additional requirements from the employer. Imported listings can be shortened or change after collection, so confirm the complete description and current availability before sending an application.

Match requirements to evidence

Identify the responsibilities and skills the employer explicitly names. For each important requirement, choose one example from your work, education, training, or projects. Explain what you did, how you did it, and what changed as a result. Include a measurable outcome when you can support it. If you lack a requirement, describe related experience accurately instead of adding an unfamiliar skill to your resume.

Put the most relevant examples near the top of your resume. Keep job titles, dates, qualifications, and contact details consistent across your application materials. Use the employer’s terminology when it describes your experience accurately; a copied list of keywords does not explain your contribution. A short, specific bullet is easier to review than a paragraph that mixes several unrelated duties.

Check the working arrangement

Confirm the location, schedule, employment type, and any eligibility requirements on the employer’s site. A remote label does not establish worldwide eligibility or flexible hours. If compensation, benefits, equipment, travel, or contract duration are missing from this listing, write down your questions for the recruiter. Do not assume details from another opening at the same company apply to this role.

Review before submitting

Follow the employer’s requested file format and application instructions. Open your exported resume and check that its text is selectable, its sections read in order, and its links work. Proofread names, dates, and contact information. Share confidential work samples only when you have permission, and use an anonymized example when necessary.

Submit through a trusted employer or recruiting destination. If the original listing has disappeared, search the employer’s careers page for the title rather than assuming the vacancy remains open. Save the application date, job reference, and the version of your resume you sent. Those details help you prepare for a later conversation and avoid submitting conflicting information through several job boards.

Review your resume for writing and readability feedback, or browse other openings if this opportunity is unavailable.
