Job description

Legal Administrator – Part time An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Legal Administrator to join a busy Children & Families Public Law team in Leamington. This is a permanent, part-time position working 4 days per week, providing comprehensive administrative and legal support to fee earners and the wider Family Department. You will play an important role in ensuring cases are managed efficiently, accurately and in line with professional standards. The role involves regular client contact, diary and file management, preparation for court hearings and general legal administration. The successful candidate will be organised, proactive and confident working in a fast-paced environment where priorities can change and urgent deadlines may arise. Duties & Responsibilities Provide comprehensive legal administrative and support services to designated fee earners and the wider Family Department.Handle client telephone and face-to-face enquiries professionally, arrange appointments and obtain relevant information from new clients, including completing conflict checks.Maintain accurate electronic case files, correspondence, emails, court pleadings, key dates, diaries, contact details and compliance documentation.Download and upload court documentation to the case management system as required.Prepare cases for court hearings, including checking documentation, arranging Counsel, preparing court bundles and typing briefs.Prepare accurate invoices and cost schedules for private-paying clients under the supervision and instructions of fee earners.Provide general administration and Reception cover when required, while attending relevant departmental and firm-wide meetings.Maintain strict client confidentiality, work flexibly and respond professionally to urgent deadlines and challenging situations.Education & Skills Required Strong previous administrative experience, ideally within a legal or professional services environment.Excellent keyboard and document production skills, with good working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook and Word.Experience of legal case management systems is desirable; knowledge of P4W would be advantageous.A proactive approach, with the initiative and confidence to deal professionally with clients and potential clients.Excellent customer service skills, with a polite, patient and professional manner when handling sensitive or difficult situations.Strong team-working skills, flexibility, discretion and the ability to maintain confidentiality at all times.Additional Information: Salary is £20,800 per annumPart-time role4 days a week between Monday – Friday (9am – 5pm)Office basedFull training provided If you have the administrative skills, professionalism and client-focused approach needed to succeed as a Legal Administrator within a Children & Families Public Law team, apply now with your CV.
