Job Description

Our client Remote Roles is hiring a Full Stack Engineer (Fintech) in Lahore. About the role We're building the core of an invoicing and instant-pay platform for freelancers and creative agencies — a product that lets independent workers send invoices and get paid immediately against them, rather than waiting on 30-, 60-, or 90-day client terms. Behind the scenes, that means moving real money through regulated banking rails, advancing funds against unpaid invoices, and settling repayment when clients pay. We're looking for a senior engineer who has built real money-movement systems before and can hit the ground running. This is not a greenfield CRUD app. You'll be moving real money through regulated banking rails, designing the ledger that the business's margin depends on, and migrating years of historical financial data into a new schema without losing a dollar. Correctness, idempotency, and auditability are the job. What you'll work on Design the data model first. Users, workspaces, customers, vendors, invoices, jobs, bills, accounts, advances, repayments, and balances as first-class relational entities — reviewed and signed off before feature work begins.Build the money movement. Invoice payment collection, instant-pay disbursement, and the repayment/settlement waterfall, all through Modern Treasury. Modern Treasury stays the system of record for banking; we don't mirror its state or store raw account/tax numbers.Own the ledger decision. Explicit ledger vs. derived-from-status balances for advances and repayments — you'll make the call and defend it.Onboarding, KYC/KYB, and account provisioning as one core flow, with a two-account model per user (a controlled "lock box" account and a spendable account) provisioned automatically on signup.Migrate historical data from a schema-less document store (where invoices are modeled as email threads and no ledger exists) into the new relational model — complete, reconciled, and flagged where lossy.Keep an existing SMS text-to-invoice agent re-activatable behind an allowlist.Build web-first, with a data model and API that won't need re-architecting to add mobile later. Must-haves 5+ years building production TypeScript, full-stack, in a senior or lead capacity.Hands-on experience shipping money-movement systems — you've built payments, banking, lending, payroll, or similar where funds actually move and mistakes have consequences. You can talk concretely about idempotency, reconciliation, and failure handling on payment flows. You've designed a financial ledger (double-entry or equivalent) and can explain the tradeoffs of ledger vs. status-derived balances from experience, not theory.Postgres depth and comfort with a typed ORM — Drizzle strongly preferred, Prisma or similar acceptable.Typed API layer experience — tRPC ideal; strong gRPC/GraphQL/typed-REST background transfers.Real data-migration experience, ideally schema-less → relational, with reconciliation of counts and dollar totals as an acceptance bar.Working understanding of KYC/KYB and ACH (Nacha authorization/consent requirements), enough to design consent capture correctly from the start rather than bolt it on.Comfortable being the person who reads an unfamiliar codebase, decides what's a reusable part and what's scaffolding, and rebuilds deliberately. Strong pluses Direct experience with Modern Treasury (or comparable banking/BaaS infra: Increase, Unit, Column, Stripe Treasury). Background in invoice factoring, advances, lending, or receivables — you understand why controlling and detecting where money lands is the whole game.Experience with a KYC/KYB provider (Persona, Alloy, Middesk) and/or a sponsor-bank relationship.Clerk (or similar) auth; Vercel and GCP (Cloud Run, Firestore, Pub/Sub).Comfort with LLM tool-use / agentic patterns (OpenAI, Anthropic) and SMS providers (Smobi, Twilio).
