Job description

About Gumball Digital

Gumball Digital is a performance marketing company that builds and operates consumer-focused digital brands. Through brands like ActiveTrials, Benefinds, and Homebase, we combine proprietary technology, data, and marketing expertise to create high-performing customer acquisition platforms.

We’re intentionally small, profitable, and fast-moving. We give talented people the autonomy to own important parts of the business and make decisions that have an immediate impact.

Gumball builds consumer web experiences and the internal tools used to manage them. Our products include mobile-first acquisition funnels, dynamic forms and surveys, administrative tools, and reporting interfaces used across multiple brands.

We are hiring a Front-End Engineer to turn product requirements into clear, responsive, and reliable interfaces. You will work across customer-facing sites and internal tools, make practical design decisions, and collaborate with a senior engineer who provides the backend services your work requires.

Our current front-end stack is TypeScript, React, Next.js, Tailwind CSS, Radix UI, and Material UI. It is a starting point, not a fixed requirement for every future problem. You should be comfortable working in this stack while remaining flexible enough to evaluate and adopt different tools when the product’s needs justify them. Most customer traffic is mobile, so mobile behavior is a core engineering requirement.

What you will do

  • Build and maintain responsive customer-facing experiences and internal web applications.
  • Create forms, surveys, editors, dashboards, and reusable interface components that are clear to first-time users.
  • Translate written requirements, brand direction, and stakeholder feedback into finished interfaces.
  • Make thoughtful decisions about layout, typography, interaction, and responsive behavior. Collaborate with the senior engineer and stakeholders when a decision affects product behavior, shared systems, or more than one brand.
  • Work with the senior engineer to define the solution. They provide the backend services and data contracts; you integrate them into the interface and identify what the front end still needs.
  • Handle loading, success, empty, validation, and failure states instead of treating the first render as complete.
  • Build for mobile use, accessibility, browser compatibility, and maintainability.
  • Test your work as a user, document the results, and respond to feedback from quality assurance and code review.
  • Keep tickets and pull requests aligned when requirements change.
  • Support production incidents when assigned by the Engineering Lead.

What we are looking for

  • Professional experience building and shipping front-end web applications, regardless of framework.
  • Experience building responsive, mobile-first web applications.
  • Strong command of HTML, CSS, component design, forms, validation, and browser behavior.
  • The ability to make sound interface decisions without requiring a finished design for every screen.
  • Experience integrating front-end applications with APIs or database-backed services.
  • A record of owning work through implementation, testing, pull-request review, and follow-up.
  • Clear written communication and the judgment to ask for input before assumptions become rework.
  • Availability during the team’s Eastern Time workday.

Helpful, not required

  • React, TypeScript, Next.js App Router, Tailwind CSS, Radix UI, or Material UI.
  • Consumer acquisition funnels, multi-step forms, survey builders, or administrative tools.
  • Complex forms, validation, data tables, drag-and-drop editors, rich text, data visualization, or conditional interfaces.
  • Front-end performance, automated testing, or accessibility work.

How the team works

You report to the Engineering Lead, who is also the senior engineer, and work closely with the Technical Project Manager and business stakeholders. The Engineering Lead partners with you on the solution and provides the backend your interface needs. You own the quality, usability, and implementation of the front end.

Salary

The pay range for this role is:

$80,000.00 - $100,000.00 USD per year (Remote (United States))

Prepare your application

Use the description above to assess your fit for Gumball Digital. This checklist is guidance from Resumize, rather than additional requirements from the employer. Imported listings can be shortened or change after collection, so confirm the complete description and current availability before sending an application.

Match requirements to evidence

Identify the responsibilities and skills the employer explicitly names. For each important requirement, choose one example from your work, education, training, or projects. Explain what you did, how you did it, and what changed as a result. Include a measurable outcome when you can support it. If you lack a requirement, describe related experience accurately instead of adding an unfamiliar skill to your resume.

Put the most relevant examples near the top of your resume. Keep job titles, dates, qualifications, and contact details consistent across your application materials. Use the employer’s terminology when it describes your experience accurately; a copied list of keywords does not explain your contribution. A short, specific bullet is easier to review than a paragraph that mixes several unrelated duties.

Check the working arrangement

Confirm the location, schedule, employment type, and any eligibility requirements on the employer’s site. A remote label does not establish worldwide eligibility or flexible hours. If compensation, benefits, equipment, travel, or contract duration are missing from this listing, write down your questions for the recruiter. Do not assume details from another opening at the same company apply to this role.

Review before submitting

Follow the employer’s requested file format and application instructions. Open your exported resume and check that its text is selectable, its sections read in order, and its links work. Proofread names, dates, and contact information. Share confidential work samples only when you have permission, and use an anonymized example when necessary.

Submit through a trusted employer or recruiting destination. If the original listing has disappeared, search the employer’s careers page for the title rather than assuming the vacancy remains open. Save the application date, job reference, and the version of your resume you sent. Those details help you prepare for a later conversation and avoid submitting conflicting information through several job boards.

Review your resume for writing and readability feedback, or browse other openings if this opportunity is unavailable.
