Job description
About the role
We're looking for a fractional Video Director to own our video program from strategy through production to quality.
Video has become one of our fastest-growing services. We have more than 100 videos in production across clients right now. Our current setup of agencies, freelancers and an overstretched producer isn't scaling on quality or cost. You'll fix that. That means sourcing the right partners, setting the quality bar, building the workflow, and standing behind the work with clients.
The work doesn't look like a traditional brand shoot. Our videos are built to be found and cited. That means YouTube videos, social-friendly clips, expert interviews and explainers that answer the questions buyers ask AI. Clarity and usefulness matter more than production polish.
About Foundation
Foundation helps B2B tech and SaaS brands get found, cited and recommended when buyers ask AI for solutions. We do the research, content, distribution and optimization that build a brand's presence where AI and buyers look: LLMs, search, Reddit and YouTube. We work with B2B brands across SaaS, HR and payroll tech, financial services, insurance and higher education.
YouTube is one of the sources AI tools regularly cite. Video done well makes our clients more likely to show up in the answer.
What you'll do
- Own video quality standards and the QA process across every video we ship, from script to final cut.
- Source, vet and manage video vendors and freelancers (editors, scriptwriters, creators). Hold them to quality, turnaround and cost.
- Build a repeatable production workflow, including in-house editing and scriptwriting where it beats outsourcing on quality or cost.
- Track cost per video and keep the program inside budget.
- Coach our creative producer and video strategists on production, feedback and client handling.
- Be the expert in the room with clients. Explain why a video is built for discovery, and push back on feedback that would hurt performance (talent choice, length, format).
- Test AI-assisted editing and scripting tools, and adopt the ones that hold up to our quality bar.
What you bring
- 10+ years in video or film production, including creative director or senior producer roles.
- Experience running video at volume across multiple vendors and freelancers.
- A working knowledge of YouTube: titles, hooks, retention, search and how videos get discovered.
- Confidence with clients. You can defend a creative call to a senior marketer and keep the relationship strong.
- A practical take on AI video tools. You know where they save time and where they fall short.
- Comfort working fractionally: async-first, decisive, and focused on the highest-leverage problems.
First 90 days
- A video QA checklist and review process used on every video before it ships.
- A vendor audit covering quality, cost per video and turnaround, with a recommendation for each vendor.
- A documented production workflow from brief to publish, including the in-house editing and scripting pilots.
- A cost-per-video baseline and target, agreed with leadership.
How we'll measure success
- Fewer revision rounds and faster turnaround from brief to publish.
- Cost per video at or under target.
- Video budget held as a percentage of revenue.
- Client satisfaction on video deliverables, and fewer escalations about video.
Compensation
- Hourly rate: $45–$65 depending on experience and location

Prepare your application
Use the description above to assess your fit for Foundation. This checklist is guidance from Resumize, rather than additional requirements from the employer. Imported listings can be shortened or change after collection, so confirm the complete description and current availability before sending an application.
Match requirements to evidence
Identify the responsibilities and skills the employer explicitly names. For each important requirement, choose one example from your work, education, training, or projects. Explain what you did, how you did it, and what changed as a result. Include a measurable outcome when you can support it. If you lack a requirement, describe related experience accurately instead of adding an unfamiliar skill to your resume.
Put the most relevant examples near the top of your resume. Keep job titles, dates, qualifications, and contact details consistent across your application materials. Use the employer’s terminology when it describes your experience accurately; a copied list of keywords does not explain your contribution. A short, specific bullet is easier to review than a paragraph that mixes several unrelated duties.
Check the working arrangement
Confirm the location, schedule, employment type, and any eligibility requirements on the employer’s site. A remote label does not establish worldwide eligibility or flexible hours. If compensation, benefits, equipment, travel, or contract duration are missing from this listing, write down your questions for the recruiter. Do not assume details from another opening at the same company apply to this role.
Review before submitting
Follow the employer’s requested file format and application instructions. Open your exported resume and check that its text is selectable, its sections read in order, and its links work. Proofread names, dates, and contact information. Share confidential work samples only when you have permission, and use an anonymized example when necessary.
Submit through a trusted employer or recruiting destination. If the original listing has disappeared, search the employer’s careers page for the title rather than assuming the vacancy remains open. Save the application date, job reference, and the version of your resume you sent. Those details help you prepare for a later conversation and avoid submitting conflicting information through several job boards.
Review your resume for writing and readability feedback, or browse other openings if this opportunity is unavailable.
