Job Description
Tech Pipeline is supporting a major Spanish logistics provider that is currently struggling with data inconsistencies across their transport network. As an Entry-Level Data Analyst, you will help identify where these errors originate and ensure that operational teams have the correct figures to keep freight moving.
About the role
This role focuses on the friction points where physical shipments and digital records disconnect. The client handles a massive volume of cargo every day, and even a small routing error can cause a significant backlog in their distribution centers. You will spend your time identifying these errors at the source rather than focusing on high-level theory. This is a technical position that requires you to look at raw CSV exports, read system logs, and determine why specific records failed to sync between the warehouse management software and the finance layer. This role is fully remote, and you will work as part of a distributed team to clean up these historical data gaps and prevent new ones from forming.

What you will be doing
- Compare data exports between the logistics platform and the internal database to find missing or mismatched records.
- Read system logs to identify why specific routing rules failed to trigger for certain shipping regions.
- Update standard operating procedures (SOPs) based on how we resolve specific data mismatches.
- Run daily reports to check for reconciliation errors between customs documentation and billing systems.
- Monitor the backlog of manual data entries to identify recurring patterns in human error.
- Communicate specific technical gaps to our engineers so they can build permanent fixes for the client.
- Verify that new routing rules are working as intended after the first week of live operation.
- Assist in building simple automated checks that alert the team when data drifts from the source of truth.
- Basic familiarity with SQL to pull data from simple tables and databases.
- Strong skills in spreadsheet software, including the ability to use lookups and pivot tables to organize large datasets.
- Clear, plain-language writing skills to explain technical problems to non-technical operators.
- A methodical approach to checking your own work for accuracy and completeness.
- Keen attention to detail to spot small discrepancies in long lists of shipping numbers and dates.
- Willingness to spend time in the messy details of logs and raw data to find the root cause of a problem.
- Comfort working in a fully remote environment where most communication happens in writing.
- Previous exposure to logistics or supply chain data through university projects or internships.
- A basic understanding of how data moves between different software tools via APIs.
- Familiarity with Python or a similar scripting language for basic data cleaning tasks.
