Responsibilities Thoroughly wash dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment using proper dishwashing techniques and sanitizing procedures Assist with basic food preparation tasks such as chopping, peeling, and organizing ingredients to support chefs and kitchen staff Maintain cleanliness of all kitchen surfaces, floors, and storage areas in compliance with sanitation standards Support bussing duties by clearing tables, removing trash, and ensuring dining areas are tidy and welcoming Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including dishwashers, sinks, and food prep tools Follow food safety management practices to prevent contamination and ensure proper handling of all food items Assist with heavy lifting tasks such as moving supplies or large containers while adhering to manual handling safety guidelines Qualifications Prior experience in food service or restaurant environments is preferred but not required; a strong willingness to learn is valued Knowledge of food safety sanitizing procedures and kitchen health standards Ability to perform manual handling tasks safely, including lifting heavy items when necessary Familiarity with operating basic kitchen equipment and dishwashing machinery Strong attention to cleanliness, sanitation, and organization skills Excellent teamwork skills with a positive attitude in a fast-paced environment Basic knife skills or willingness to develop them is a plus This role offers an engaging opportunity to be an essential part of our culinary team while gaining valuable experience in food handling, sanitation practices, and kitchen operations.
