Job Title: Director, Informatics & Applications Education
Job Description
The Informatics and Applications Education team's mission is to bring the health system edge to informatics and applications education, enabling clinicians and staff to efficiently and confidently use technology in healing one patient at a time. The team is responsible for training and ensuring the ongoing competency of physicians, nurses, and other hospital/clinic or support personnel related to the use of enterprise information systems for clinical, access and revenue cycle functions. The Director, Informatics and Applications Education is responsible for developing and executing short-term and long-term training strategies and effective education plans for all hospital and clinic personnel to optimize skills in using such information systems. This position will interface with multiple constituents and stakeholders such as Directors, VPs, and CXOs.
Essential Functions
Create, plan, resource, prioritize, and manage training and development initiativesEstablish measurements of proficiency and satisfaction with annual performance improvement goalsDirect, guide, and develop a training staff of educators and instructional design personnelCreate and improve departmental and inter-departmental processes and tools to support maximum effectiveness of training team effortsEnsure excellence in training assessment, instructional design, and multi-modality training deliveryAdvance the training platform to incorporate new learning technologiesAnalyze complex problems to extract educational components and provide direction in prioritization and rapid implementation of appropriate educational strategies and tactics tailored to the needs of diverse groupsCommunicate with stakeholders to ascertain training requirements and expectations, and manages stakeholder communication through the training processDevelop appropriate strategy documentation, schedules, project plans, processes and tracks progress toward milestone completion for all training projectsManage departmental budget to ensure proper resource allocation across all support and implementation projectsProactively identify and effectively resolve conflicts across projects and activities, using creative staffing models, innovative delivery methods, negotiation and collaborative problem solvingImplement and maintain competency/proficiency/satisfaction assessment metrics and drives performance improvement programs Measure training return on investment (ROI) and helps to pilot test new training techniques, strategies, tools and processes to increase training effectivenessSolicit trainee feedback and appropriately adapts training according to feedback and competency achievedWork closely with physician and nursing leadership, including office of the CNO and CMO to align educational strategies and competency assessments Directors, VPs, and CXOs.
Job Qualifications
Education: - Bachelor's degree in a work-related discipline/field from an accredited college or universityExperience: Five (5) years of progressively responsible and directly related work experience at a management level.

Ability to translate complex concepts in simple form and communicate to cross-functional departments or teamsAbility to rapidly develop and maintain current knowledge of information systems, projects, team structures and organizational processesAbility to interact with and influence organizational leadership and executivesAbility to manage multiple simultaneous projects and strategically leverage resources (people, costs, and time) across departmentsAbility to anticipate, mediate and resolve complex problems and issuesAbility to provide leadership, vision and strategic direction for healthcare informatics programs, projects and services in support of health systems mission and goalsAbility to strategize, plan and implement change Ability to supervise, coach, mentor, evaluate and manage overall performance of assigned personnelKnowledge of the healthcare setting and culture as well as experience using EMRs, Epic strongly preferredKnowledge of current theories, principles, practices, standards, emerging technologies, techniques and approaches in adult education, and the achievement of competency and proficiencyKnowledge of principles and practices of organization, administration, fiscal and personnel managementKnowledge of project management processes, tools and systemsKnowledge of software development and implementation cycles and post-live support models Capability in MS Word, Excel, PPT, Visio, Project and other documentation toolsAble to manage a Learning Management System and Knowledge Management SystemKnowledge of Lean (Toyota Production System) principles preferred
