Data Analyst - Reporting and Automation

Job Summary Ibex. on behalf of its client is seeking an experienced and highly analytical Data Analyst to support business reporting, portfolio analytics, data management, dashboard development, and process automation. This is a Night Shift role. and in this role you will work closely with business and technical stakeholders to transform complex data into accurate, actionable insights and scalable reporting solutions. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with SQL, Snowflake, Tableau, Power BI, Excel, and Power Query, along with a strong understanding of data analysis, reporting, automation, and data quality. The candidate should be comfortable working with large datasets, identifying trends and discrepancies, automating repetitive processes, and communicating analytical findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Key Responsibilities: 1. Data Analysis & Reporting: Extract, transform, analyze, and validate data from multiple internal and external sources to support business and portfolio reporting.Develop recurring and ad-hoc analytical reports that provide clear insights into business performance, customer behavior, and portfolio trends.Perform detailed data analysis and deep dives to identify trends, anomalies, opportunities, and potential business issues.Translate business requirements into analytical solutions, reporting logic, metrics, and actionable insights.Ensure analytical outputs are accurate, consistent, timely, and aligned with defined business requirements.Develop and maintain standardized reporting processes and documentation. 2. SQL & Snowflake: Write complex and optimized SQL queries to extract, transform, aggregate, and analyze large datasets.Develop reusable SQL logic for recurring reporting, analytics, data validation, and business metrics.Work extensively with Snowflake to query and analyze large-scale datasets across multiple schemas and data sources.Perform data reconciliation and investigate discrepancies across source systems and reporting outputs.Identify opportunities to improve query performance, data processing efficiency, and reporting scalability.Support the development and maintenance of analytical datasets and reporting tables in the data warehouse. 3. Tableau & Power BI: Design, develop, and maintain interactive Tableau dashboards and reports for business and management stakeholders.Develop Power BI dashboards and reports using appropriate data models, measures, filters, and visualizations.Translate complex analytical results into clear, intuitive, and actionable dashboards.Develop and maintain standardized dashboard templates, KPIs, and reporting views.Validate dashboard data and ensure consistency between visualization outputs and underlying source data.Monitor dashboard performance and identify opportunities to improve usability, efficiency, and scalability. 4. Excel & Power Query: Use advanced Excel capabilities for data analysis, reconciliation, reporting, and business modeling.Develop complex formulas, pivot tables, lookups, data models, and analytical worksheets.Use Power Query to extract, transform, combine, and standardize data from multiple sources.Automate repetitive Excel-based reporting and data preparation processes.Build reusable Excel and Power Query solutions that reduce manual effort and improve reporting accuracy.Perform quality checks and reconciliation of Excel-based outputs against source data. 5. Automation & Process Improvement: Identify repetitive and manual reporting processes that can be automated or streamlined.Develop automated workflows and analytical processes to reduce manual effort and improve turnaround time.Work with SQL, Power Query, Power BI, Tableau, Excel, and other available tools to automate data preparation and reporting activities.Improve existing reporting processes by reducing manual data manipulation, duplicate work, and potential sources of error.Develop scalable and maintainable automation solutions with appropriate documentation and validation controls.Monitor automated processes and troubleshoot issues to ensure reliable and timely delivery. 6. Data Quality & Validation: Perform data profiling, validation, reconciliation, and quality checks across multiple data sources.Identify missing, duplicate, inconsistent, inaccurate, or anomalous data that could affect reporting or business decisions.Investigate data discrepancies and work with relevant teams to determine root causes and implement appropriate solutions.Validate key metrics, business rules, calculations, and reporting logic before delivering analytical outputs.Establish repeatable data quality checks to improve confidence in recurring reports and dashboards.Maintain clear documentation of data sources, transformations, assumptions, and business definitions. 7. Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with business, technology, data engineering, finance, risk, and other stakeholders to understand reporting and analytical requirements.Gather requirements and translate business questions into practical data and reporting solutions.Communicate analytical findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.Provide support for ad-hoc business questions and time-sensitive analytical requests.Proactively identify opportunities to improve reporting, analytics, data quality, and operational efficiency. Required Qualifications & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, Finance, or a related field.3–5+ years of experience in data analytics, business intelligence, reporting, or a related analytical role.Strong hands-on experience with SQL and querying large datasets.Strong experience working with Snowflake or another modern cloud data warehouse.Advanced Excel skills, including complex formulas, pivot tables, lookups, data analysis, and reporting.Hands-on experience with Power Query for data extraction, transformation, and automation.Strong experience developing dashboards and reports using Tableau and/or Power BI.Experience automating manual reporting and data preparation processes.Experience performing data validation, reconciliation, and quality checks.Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, problem-solving, and communication skills. Preferred Qualifications: Experience working with financial services, banking, credit cards, consumer lending, or other large-scale transactional datasets.Experience developing enterprise-level Tableau or Power BI dashboards.Experience with advanced SQL optimization and Snowflake performance considerations.Experience with VBA, Python, scripting, or other technologies used to enhance reporting automation.Experience working with APIs, SFTP, cloud platforms, or other data integration technologies.Understanding of data governance, data security, and data management practices.Experience working in fast-paced, data-driven environments with multiple concurrent priorities. Reporting Cadence & Performance Expectations: Deliver accurate and timely recurring reports, dashboards, and analytical outputs within agreed timelines.Maintain reliable and well-documented reporting processes and automation workflows.Proactively identify data or reporting issues that may impact business decisions and communicate them to relevant stakeholders.Support rapid-response analytics and ad-hoc deep dives for emerging business questions.Continuously identify opportunities to automate manual processes, improve efficiency, and enhance reporting capabilities.Ensure all data and reporting outputs are handled securely and in accordance with applicable company policies and data governance requirements.
