Job Description

Tech Pipeline is currently assisting a major financial services provider to resolve persistent data drift in their customer management systems. As a CRM Data Assistant, you will help bridge the gap between their existing sales tools and the actual needs of their operations team. This is a fully remote, permanent position focused on tangible technical fixes rather than abstract strategy.

About the role
When companies scale quickly, their CRM often becomes a source of friction rather than a source of truth. Data enters the system from multiple channels, but leads get stuck or routing rules fail without anyone noticing for weeks. You will be tasked with identifying where these records are getting lost and helping us clean up the backlog. Your work will directly impact how the financial services provider manages their client relationships by ensuring the data they rely on is accurate and accessible. Because we are not here for long term retainers, you will help us build a system that the client can eventually run on their own.

What you will be doing
  • Reviewing CRM logs daily to identify records that failed to sync between integrated platforms.
  • Cross-referencing contact records across multiple databases to ensure no duplication exists.
  • Updating existing standard operating procedures as we refine routing rules for the client.
  • Assisting in the manual reconciliation of account data that automated scripts cannot resolve.
  • Testing new lead distribution workflows to verify that records reach the correct operator every time.
  • Documenting the specific causes of data errors so the team can build permanent fixes.
  • Participating in weekly progress updates where we discuss technical roadblocks and completed tasks.
  • Cleaning up legacy data tags that no longer serve a purpose in the current reporting pipeline.

What we need from you
  • Strong attention to detail and a genuine interest in how data flows through a business.
  • Familiarity with spreadsheet software like Excel or Google Sheets for basic data sorting and filtering.
  • The ability to write clear, concise documentation that explains technical problems to non-technical users.
  • A patient approach to repetitive tasks that require high levels of accuracy.
  • Comfort working in a fully remote setup where communication happens primarily through text and shared docs.
  • Curiosity about how CRM platforms function behind the scenes and how databases connect.
  • Reliability in managing your own schedule to meet daily data checking requirements.
  • Willingness to ask questions when a routing rule or data entry does not look right.

Helpful background
  • Previous experience in a data entry or administrative role, even in a different industry.
  • Exposure to basic database concepts or simple logic formatting.
  • Understanding of the financial services sector or how insurance and banking products are sold.
  • Familiarity with remote collaboration tools like Slack or project management boards.

What the role offers
  • Participation in a paid, permanent role with a competitive salary for the entry level market.
  • The flexibility of a fully remote work environment that lets you work from anywhere.
  • Hands-on experience with complex technical systems used by large enterprises.
  • Mentorship from experienced operators who value practical skills over credentials.
  • Regular feedback and clear paths for growing into more technical data roles.
  • A workplace culture that avoids unnecessary meetings and respects your focus time.

Working at Tech Pipeline
We believe that good operations work is quiet and consistent. Instead of long brainstorming sessions or theoretical decks, we focus on the technical reality of how work moves from one system to another. Our team communicates through detailed written updates and shared documentation because we want the systems we build to outlast our presence. We value clarity over buzzwords. You will find that we do not spend time on high level strategy that never gets implemented. Instead, we spend our time reading logs, fixing friction points, and making sure the client team is ready to take over. This role requires a focus on ground truth and a commitment to making sure the numbers finally stop drifting.
