Job description

Real opportunities. Real impact. Your career, redefined.

(NOTE: A human reviews every application at Oceans, so please apply for only one position and only once a year—if you're a better fit for another role, we’ll route your application accordingly and if we’re not quite ready for you, we’ll reach back out later.)

At Oceans, we believe that talent knows no boundaries. That’s why we connect the best and brightest professionals with career-defining opportunities that challenge, inspire, and accelerate their career growth. Our community, whom we call Divers, don’t just work—they dive deep, solve complex challenges, and make a real impact with global industry leaders. And in doing so, they don’t just support bold ideas—they expand their skills, broaden their expertise, and grow their careers.

We are seeking a highly analytical, commercially minded Conversion Rate Optimization (CRO) Strategist to partner with a specialized e-commerce performance agency. The company works with established direct-to-consumer and Shopify brands to boost conversion rates, average order value, and commercial growth through structured research and data-driven experimentation.

In this role, you will independently manage end-to-end CRO programs across approximately six client brands. You will turn quantitative analytics and qualitative customer research into testable hypotheses, design experimentation roadmaps, oversee A/B test launches, and analyze statistical results to drive continuous e-commerce performance improvements.

Accountability

As a Conversion Rate Optimization (CRO) Strategist, your success will be defined by your ability to independently build, execute, and scale data-driven experimentation programs that improve client conversion metrics and commercial performance.

Here’s how you’ll make an impact:

CRO Research & Opportunity Identification

  • Conduct structured quantitative and qualitative research across assigned e-commerce storefronts to identify conversion bottlenecks and friction points.
  • Analyze Google Analytics 4 (GA4) data to pinpoint drop-offs, underperforming landing pages, and funnel conversion barriers.
  • Perform review mining, analyze customer surveys, product feedback, and customer personas to surface recurring purchasing objections and motivations.
  • Utilize Microsoft Clarity heat maps and scroll maps to evaluate visitor browsing behavior and intent.
  • Prepare comprehensive research documents and translate behavioral insights into commercially relevant optimization opportunities.

Experiment Strategy & Hypothesis Development

  • Formulate clear, commercially meaningful A/B testing hypotheses grounded in research evidence.
  • Identify optimization opportunities across product detail pages, landing pages, cart flows, and checkout journeys.
  • Build, prioritize, and maintain structured CRO experimentation roadmaps based on feasibility, supporting evidence, and commercial impact.
  • Present proposed experiments for client approval through established agency frameworks, ensuring tests align with commercial growth goals.

A/B Testing & Campaign Management

  • Prepare clear, actionable briefs for design and copywriting teams to develop experimental assets.
  • Review creative concepts and provide feedback to ensure designs align with hypothesis objectives.
  • Partner with project management resources to coordinate and launch approved A/B tests.
  • Monitor live experiments regularly to ensure data integrity and track early user interaction.
  • Evaluate completed test outcomes to determine implementation decisions and plan follow-up experiments.

Analytics, Funnel Mapping & Content Support

  • Apply advanced statistical judgment to evaluate A/B test outcomes and distinguish true conversion wins from inconclusive results.
  • Extract funnel performance data from GA4 and develop visual conversion funnel maps using Figma.
  • Identify conversion concepts for landing pages, listicles, and advertorials, developing messaging angles that address key customer barriers.
  • Leverage AI-assisted research and analytics workflows to accelerate data processing while maintaining independent strategic reasoning.

Cross-Functional & Stakeholder Coordination

  • Collaborate daily with designers, copywriters, and project managers through standups, Slack, and Loom to keep test pipelines moving forward.
  • Maintain clear visibility into active experiments, testing roadmaps, and client results.
  • Present insights and recommendations in weekly team meetings and participate in client-facing discussions as needed.

Colleagues

You will work directly with agency Co-Founders while collaborating daily with project managers, graphic designers, conversion copywriters, and client-facing Virtual Assistants across client accounts.

At Oceans, you’ll also receive guidance and support from your Operations Manager, who will help you succeed in the role and ensure that you’re continuously growing and developing in your career.

Skills and Qualifications

At Oceans, we believe in T-shaped individuals—those who bring deep expertise in one area, paired with broad curiosity and interests. As a Conversion Rate Optimization (CRO) Strategist, your vertical strength will be e-commerce CRO research, hypothesis generation, and A/B test analysis, while your horizontal capabilities should span GA4 funnel analysis, creative briefing, statistical reasoning, and cross-functional coordination.

To excel in this role, you should have:

  • Specialized CRO Experience: Hands-on experience owning end-to-end conversion rate optimization programs and A/B testing within a dedicated CRO agency or substantial in-house e-commerce function.
  • Analytics Mastery: Advanced proficiency in Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to analyze funnel drop-offs, user behavior, and e-commerce transactions.
  • Experimentation & Statistics: Proven track record running A/B tests and evaluating results using sound statistical principles.
  • E-Commerce Context: Practical experience optimizing direct-to-consumer Shopify stores, product detail pages, cart journeys, and landing pages.
  • Tools & Platforms: Working knowledge of heat mapping tools (Microsoft Clarity), design platforms (Figma), and team collaboration tools (Slack, Loom).
  • AI & Workflow Efficiency: Comfort utilizing AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT, GA4 MCP integrations) to streamline research and data synthesis without compromising human strategic judgment.
  • Strategic Independence: Ability to make confident, data-backed optimization decisions and communicate recommendations clearly.

During the interview process, you’ll have the opportunity to showcase your skills in the following areas:

  • Funnel Analysis & Problem Sourcing: How do you evaluate GA4 data, user recordings, and reviews to isolate conversion bottlenecks?
  • Hypothesis Formulation & Prioritization: How do you translate raw customer behavior into testable, high-impact hypotheses and structured roadmaps?
  • Statistical Evaluation & Test Interpretation: How do you evaluate A/B test metrics to determine clear implementation actions versus inconclusive signals?
  • Creative Briefing & Execution: How do you translate strategic hypotheses into clear briefs for designers and copywriters?
  • Multi-Account Program Management: How do you balance research, testing, and roadmap execution across multiple e-commerce brands simultaneously?

Diversity of experience is core to Oceans. You are expected to work inclusively with individuals from a variety of backgrounds, ensuring that both personal and collective dignity are supported.

Prepare your application

Use the description above to assess your fit for Oceans. This checklist is guidance from Resumize, rather than additional requirements from the employer. Imported listings can be shortened or change after collection, so confirm the complete description and current availability before sending an application.

Match requirements to evidence

Identify the responsibilities and skills the employer explicitly names. For each important requirement, choose one example from your work, education, training, or projects. Explain what you did, how you did it, and what changed as a result. Include a measurable outcome when you can support it. If you lack a requirement, describe related experience accurately instead of adding an unfamiliar skill to your resume.

Put the most relevant examples near the top of your resume. Keep job titles, dates, qualifications, and contact details consistent across your application materials. Use the employer’s terminology when it describes your experience accurately; a copied list of keywords does not explain your contribution. A short, specific bullet is easier to review than a paragraph that mixes several unrelated duties.

Check the working arrangement

Confirm the location, schedule, employment type, and any eligibility requirements on the employer’s site. A remote label does not establish worldwide eligibility or flexible hours. If compensation, benefits, equipment, travel, or contract duration are missing from this listing, write down your questions for the recruiter. Do not assume details from another opening at the same company apply to this role.

Review before submitting

Follow the employer’s requested file format and application instructions. Open your exported resume and check that its text is selectable, its sections read in order, and its links work. Proofread names, dates, and contact information. Share confidential work samples only when you have permission, and use an anonymized example when necessary.

Submit through a trusted employer or recruiting destination. If the original listing has disappeared, search the employer’s careers page for the title rather than assuming the vacancy remains open. Save the application date, job reference, and the version of your resume you sent. Those details help you prepare for a later conversation and avoid submitting conflicting information through several job boards.

Review your resume for writing and readability feedback, or browse other openings if this opportunity is unavailable.
