Job description

Kettering Health is seeking a Chief Medical Officer (CMO) to join its senior executive team. This pivotal role involves providing strategic leadership and direction for divisional operations, ensuring alignment with the organization's mission and objectives. The CMO will serve as the senior medical authority at KH sites, acting as a crucial liaison between Administration and the Medical Staff, and advising on medical and clinical matters. Practice Info Key member of the senior executive team Serves as the senior medical authority at KH sites Acts as a vital liaison between Administration and the Medical Staff Oversees and provides clinical supervision of the hospital's utilization review program Responsibilities Develop and champion the hospital's patient safety and clinical quality agenda in collaboration with the executive responsible for quality and performance improvement Define standards of care, enhance clinical outcomes, and disseminate best practices across the organization Assist the Chief of Staff, Medical Executive Committee, and Medical Staff in their roles to foster a culture of patient safety and quality Chair or support key physician committees focusing on clinical program alignment, strategic planning, integration of care standards, research, and continuous quality improvement Serve as the primary clinical liaison to the Quality and Safety Board Subcommittee and the community Assist with physician recruitment, promote physician and patient satisfaction, and support the hospital's efforts in physician retention and relations Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g., HFAP, CMS, federal and state regulations) and support the hospital's strategic planning and development efforts Actively participate in Kettering Health physician leadership meetings, the hospital's Executive Council, and assist in the development and implementation of the hospital's Strategic Plan Requirements M.D. or D.O. degree Board Certification in a clinical specialty Master's degree in health administration, Business Administration or Certified Physician Executive Certificate, desirable Appropriate continuing education courses Ohio Medical License Active member on the medical staff of Kettering Health Ten years' clinical practice experience Three years' experience in medical management and administration
